I'm back at work, today, feeling much better. My professors still didn't give us any homework, yesterday, so Devin came over again, last night. He brought some snacks and we watched movies. He didn't try anything and it was literally perfect. I guess you can say that I'm on cloud nine.
"What's on your mind, Charity?" Marcus asks. I didn't realize, I had started daydreaming. "Oh nothing. Just a daze. What's up?" I lie. "Nothing much, really. I did want to ask you something, though." For some reason, my heart sinks. "Where do you like to go out to eat? Like, what place has some food, that's to die for?" I'm startled. Is this man asking me on a date? "Uh...well...um, well what do you like to eat?" I revert the question. "It's not about me. I'm asking you," he laughs. If I was light skinned, I'd be red as hell. "Ummm. Well it's this really good southern food restaurant, on Peachtree. I've been there quite a lot, actually." "Good to know. My wife and I are going to be celebrating our anniversary, soon, and I want to take her somewhere we've never been. Thanks a lot." "Yea, sure...no problem!" I fake smile. What the hell was I thinking? Why would he ask me out on a damn date?
"What's up lil lady?" Todd walks in, from outside, with Lucci and security. I hadn't even seen them leave, this morning. "Nothing much. Just working." I motion, to my work area, behind me. "Where's your friend?" Lucci asks. "She's here. She just took a lil bathroom break," I answer. "Why you asking for me?" Teyana jumps in, from around the corner, with a devious smile. She would never cheat on Rashad but she damn sure will flirt. "I just wanted to see your face. You spicy as hell." We all laugh. "So they got a lil sweet and spicy thang going on. I like it." Todd says. "Y'all got jokes." I laugh. I'm secretly hoping that Marcus doesn't come and ruin the vibe again. "We like that shit, for real. But y'all should come out with us tomorrow night. I got a VIP section at Compound. I can get y'all in." Lucci says. Teyana and I both contemplate. Rashad would not approve and honestly Devin wouldn't either. "What, y'all got boyfriends or sumn?" Todd asks. "I mean I'm dating someone," I say. "I got a whole ass boyfriend...but I need a night out. He went out with his boys, last weekend, now it's my turn." Teyana says. Ahh hell, YOLO. Lmao. "I'm down, too." Todd slides me his number. "Text me, so I can have your number. I'll hit you up, tomorrow."
"We're going to get killed." Teyana said. "Not me, I'm single," I laugh. "Whatever. I'm not gone be kissing up on nobody or nothing like that, so Rashad can't get mad. Plus , I like Reginae. Ion want no problems, with her." "Same." Romar walks back in, from his break, so we cease our conversation. "What the hell y'all was talking about? Y'all mighty quiet now," he says, looking at us crazy. "Girl stuff," I lie. "You a damn lie. I seen Lucci and his boy just leave," he laughs. That damn boy so nosey. "That don't mean a damn thing," Teyana laughs, while clocking out for a break. I usually take my only break when she takes her second one, since she works the longer shift. I don't really mind waiting. If I need to sneak a snack, while in the front, I can do that.
A few other coworkers, are in the break room, so we start whispering. "Look at him. So damn fine," Teyana shows me a picture of Lucci. "Tee, you better stop before you get out there and cheat," I say only half joking. I'm always scared that her flirting might turn into something more. These men obviously don't care if a woman has a boyfriend or husband and they damn sure don't care if they're in a relationship themselves. It's sad. "Girl, I got this. I'm just going to have fun. Innocent fun." "Ain't nothing innocent about Lucci." She smiles way too hard, at that. I can tell that it's gone be some shit.

Compound is the club where all the celebrities go to, when they come to Atlanta. You not gone find them at Mansion. Granted, Lucci lives here but he's all about showing out. Todd texted me asking if we needed a car, to come get us. I'd rather take chances with Uber. I don't want to give them the impression that they getting anything from us. Teyana is meeting me at my place, around midnight, since the show doesn't even end until then. They probably won't be at the club, until 1. I took me a nap, after my classes because I know how I am. I'd be tired by 1 and would want to come back home.Zora group facetimes me, with Jaydah and Lilah. "Yassss, honey. You stepping out!!" Jaydah says. Zora and Lilah chime in. My girls sure know how to gas me up. I'm wearing an all white romper, with long sleeves and a deep v cut. I paired that with some light pink, strappy heels. My weave is "wet n wavy", so I opted for the wet hair look, with a middle part. "Girl, I have to. I can't be in nobody section, looking like a college student." I look damn good, if I do say so, myself. "Does Devin know you going out?" Lilah asks, killing the mood. "Girl, ain't nobody worried about him right now!" Jaydah shouts out. "Right, this is Lucci and his boys we talking 'bout. Hell I'd go, if they invited me." Zora chimes in. "Y'all so reckless," Lilah laughs. Such an innocent soul.
I talk to them, for a few minutes, before Teyana arrives. I rarely hang with my girls and Teyana but they don't any issues, with her. It's just two different types of relationships. I open my door and I'm blown away. Teyana is a feisty or spicy chick, so she normally dresses, tomboyish. But tonight, she did NOT come to play. She's wearing a velvet black, mid-thigh fitted dress, with long sleeves and almost her entire back out. "They gone think they taking us home, tonight. We did not have to slay like this." I say, admiring her outfit. "We have made it clear, that we are taken. It's up to them if that wanna make themselves suffer, by thinking they can," she laughs. "Good point."
We take hella pics, before calling our Uber. "Okay, so we'll get there around 1:10. Todd says, they're on the way too," I say, checking my phone. "Bet." I periodically check my snap, because I'm getting a lot of love, from my friends. I get a notification, from Marcus and realize that I still didn't block him, from seeing my stories. I'm way too anxious, to see what he said. "Marcus watched my snap," I turn to Teyana. "I bet you he in love now," she answers. "See what he said. "No, maybe I should just ignore it or delete him.""Girl, he already saw it. There's no turning back, now." She's right, if I delete him now, it might cause tension, at work. Damn. I reluctantly look at his message. So this is what you look like, when you go out? Stunning. Don't get into too much trouble tonight, missy. "Stunning?! Oh he's ready to risk it all," Teyana laughs. "He's not going to cheat on his wife and I'm not going to let him." "Umhmm. Well if you do, let me know." "I'm not entertaining that man. It's wrong." "It's wrong for him. He's the one that told God he'd do right by his woman. You're single." I shake my head at her. It's still wrong for someone to knowingly mess with a married person. Thank you. Sometimes, I gotta look like a human. I reply back. I'd love to see that, in person. We should all go out, as a team. Do something fun. I'll look into that. He replies. We arrive, at Compound, so I close the app. I don't even know what to say that.
