Pocahontas and John Smith

Chapter 16

The Chief of the village runs off and meets his girlfriend at her house. He takes her to the waterfall. She loves it there. Then he couldn't take it anymore. He dropped to one knee and looks up at her. Adoette, We have been dating for a while now, and I love you to pieces. Adoette? Will you do the honor of becoming my wife?" Adoette's eyes tear up with happiness. Then she stopped smiling. "What will Pocahontas think?" She asked with worry.  "Don't worry Adoette, I have already asked for her blessing and she said yes!" He says. She smiles again and pulls him up and kisses him. "I love you." Adoette says. "I love you too." He says. "Let's tell the village tonight at dinner." Adoette smiles and nods. He smiles and takes her hand and they run off together.

Meanwhile Pocahontas and John Smith were walking along the river. They played with the otters and other animal friends. Pocahontas suddenly felt something odd in her stomach. John notices this. "Sweetheart what's wrong?" Pocahontas looks kinda confused. "I don't know. It feels like something pushing on the inside of my stomach." She says holding her stomach. "Hold on let me feel." He says as kneels down on his knee and puts his hand on her stomach. After a few seconds John relaxes. "It's alright it's just the baby kicking." Then he realized what he just said. "Oh My Gosh The BABY IS KICKING!" He shouts as he leaps in the air. "Baby kicking? Is that good or bad?" She asked. "Oh you haven't heard about this stuff?" he asked. She shakes her head as she sits on the ground putting her feet in the water. "How do you know about it?" She asked. "Well when I was young my mother was pregnant with my sister and she would let me and Dad feel the baby kicking all the time so I know it's normal." He says. Pocahontas looks shocked he has never mentioned his family before. "John what happened to your family?" John sighs. "One night, we were all asleep, Me, my mother, My Father, and my sister. Then a burglar broke in and I hid under the bed. The burglar was trying to get my parents to give them all the valuable stuff like diamonds gold and other things. Well, we were poor and didn't have any of that. So the burglar shot all three of them and killed them." He lets a tear slip. Pocahontas starts to cry too. "Oh John! I'm so sorry! That's horrible! She says as she embraces him. "It's not your fault. Things happen." He said hugging her back. "Since we are doing back stories, what happened to you're Mother?" He asked. "Well, my story isn't as tragic, but My Mother died from a terrible illness. She died when I was about twelve." She says. "Oh that's awful." He says. She nods. "But you have been through worse." She says as she wraps her arms around his shoulders. "Eh it's alright I have learned to deal with it." He says. "But that's all behind us now. Let's focus on our future ok?" John asked as he turned his head to look at her. She nods and kisses his cheek. He wraps his arms around her and she leans into his chest. "So does the baby kick a lot?" Pocahontas asks. Pocahontas didn't know a lot about pregnancy. "Yes but the kicks shouldn't start hurting until about eight months or so." He tells her calmly. "Ok good. I don't like to be in pain." John looks at her. "I hate to see you in pain." He kisses her head. Pocahontas eventually gets tired. John picks her up and takes her to bed. "Goodnight darling." He says as he kisses her head. Then he snuggles up against her and drifts of to sleep.

Meanwhile on the ship

They were getting closer everyday. John Rolfe was getting restless. He barely ate or drank, but luckily the crew members got him to eat and drink. He would pace back and forth with anxiety. He just wanted her so bad. He wanted to kiss her lips and spend the rest of his life with her. He needed to get there as soon as possible. "Captain!" He yelled as he walked up to the top deck. "Yes sire?" The Captain asks. "How much farther?" He asked with a whiny tone. "About two months of sailing to go sir." Rolfe groans. He needed to touch her and kiss her and make her his. He was so tired of waiting. He wanted to get there faster. Lucky for Pocahontas, that he didn't.

Meanwhile back in the village

Everyone gathered at the camp for dinner. The Great Powhatan raises his arms and staff. Everyone looks at him. "Attention, everyone! I have an announcement!" Everyone looks excited. The last announcement he had was when Pocahontas became pregnant. "As some of you know I have been dating a woman named Adoette, Well it has finally come when I have asked her to marry her and she said yes!" The crowd was shocked at first, but then burst into applause. "Now let's eat!" He says as he goes and  sits by his fiance. They all eat, and then go home and go to sleep.

Pocahontas wanted to sleep on the ship again. She was very pregnant and was feeling uncomfortable on the floor. "John?" She asks as they start to walk home. "Yes Darling?" He asked looking at her. "Can we sleep on the ship again? The ground is very uncomfortable right now due to the pregnancy." She says as she points at her large stomach. John laughs. "Yes, of course your comfort is very important to me." He says as he kisses his wife's head. She smiles and thanks him with a kiss on the lips. Then they headed towards the ship. They board the ship and go to their room. Then they get into bed and say their goodnights. Then they eventually drift off to sleep.
