i felt the cold metal hit my temple and i rolled my eyes.
"oh daddy, don't pretend you'd do it. who else will you have to play with?", i said smirking, putting on a childlike voice.
i'd never been a child. just insane.

i chuckled and shoved him off me and made my way upstairs. i was numb to it all by now, so uncaring that i was turning crazier by the day.
you see, when i was four years old, with hope and no upper body strength, it made him feel powerful. my dad. he got a kick out of torturing his only son.
but now i was a teenager, growing stronger and stronger to fight him off. i could tell he was getting scared.
by the age of ten i was apathetic. he couldn't hurt my feelings anymore, only do damage physically.
soon enough he won't even be able to do that.
and that made me feel powerful. maybe because i was turning into him. or maybe because i've earned to privilege of feeling this way.
