This brief history lesson is brought to by my dumbass not researching before actually writing ;)

Imma make this real quick:
*Sources will be at the bottom*

Lightbulbs were not invented by Thomas Edison in 1879, because historians believe there were in fact about 20 other inventors who created incandescent lamps before him. However, Thomas Edison's invention was able to get further than the others due to three factors: "an effective incandescent material, a higher vacuum than others were able to achieve and a high resistance that made power distribution from a centralized source economically viable" according to bulbs.com. 1880 was the beginning of commercially manufactured light bulbs, but for the next fifty years, people still lit their homes using gas lights and candles. Only in 1925 did 50% of homes in the U.S. have electric power.

Alexander Cumming was given the first patent for the flush toilet in 1775, with his "greatest innovation" being the S-shaped pipe below the toilet bowl, which prevented sewer gas from coming through the toilet. In the late 19th century, Thomas Crapper created one of the first widely successful flush toilets. While he didn't invent a toilet, he invented the ballcock, an "improved tank-filling mechanism still used in toilets today."

Sinks date back to the 18th century, originally being called "washstands". Washstands were small tables that held deep bowls filled with water to wash in. Some bowls had holes where the bowl sat, leading to the invention of dry sinks. Between 1820 and 1900, the dry sink developed with wood cabinets and a trough built on top. Splashboards were often added to the walls, as well as shelves and drawers, however the more elaborate sink designs were usually in the kitchen.

Pink was originally made for boys, since it was considered a bright and strong (masculine) color, while blue was light, soft, and dainty (feminine). Most people believe that that changed after the WWII era, when gay people were labeled with pink triangles, however the change was long and gradual, and it was only recently that pink was accepted only for girls and blue only for boys. There was a time period in the 19th century where both boys and girls wore pink, and both boys and girls wore dresses.

The story takes place sometime between 1990-2019, however, when Remi goes back in time, she's in a timeline between 1850-1900. Forgive me if during the story something is incorrect or doesn't match with history, because it's difficult to write (especially when I didn't really prepare).

I recognize that the links won't work, sorry about that!
