A/N: I'm sorry El's not in this but I feel like they would have their own private chat because she noticed the way Will looks at Mike. Also sorry it sucks I'm sure I'll fix it another time! ❤️

Will sat on the floor of the empty library reading a book. He wasn't really enjoying it either. The name of the book wore off and it was covered in layers of dust when he picked it up. Due to boredom he sat down a starting reading.

William Byers/Hopper wasn't one to stray to far from home due to worried parents but the library wasn't too far. His parents an older brother Jonathan were cleaning the house and he wanted nothing to do with that. El, his step-sister, was at Mike's house. She always hung out with him. He can't blame her as they were separated for almost year.

As he was reading it mentioned a gay character. 'So that's why it was so dusty' he thought. Being gay was considered a sin where they lived but his family didn't care which is what he loved about them. Reading or hearing the words "im gay" in Hawkins, Indiana during the 80s was strange to many but to Will it made him feel safe.

It made him feel safe because he was too. Seeing that made him make a life changing decision. The decision to come out to his family. He had already told El but she didn't fully understand it. She was supportive though. Before Will left the library he set the book back in its spot and said goodbye to the kind librarian.

He raced home with shakey hands. Once he arrived he threw his bike on the lawn and burst through the door scaring his mom. His dad and brother walked in to see what was wrong.

"Mom, dad. I need to talk to you. You too Jonathan." Will noticed the scared look on their faces. "Its nothing bad. Well that actually depends on your opinion but still."

The group sat down at the kitchen table. Will wasn't scared until now. Sitting face to face with everyone, waiting for him to speak up. He started to fidget due to nervousness. Joyce noticing this grabbed his hand and squeezed it, all while giving him a smile of reassurance.

"Um. I don't know how to sugar coat it so I'm just gonna say it." He took a deep breath and announced "I'm gay. I like guys."

A sigh of relief came from Hopper. "So you're saying that when you almost broke our door it was because you were afraid to tell us that your gay?"

"Well kinda" Will gave a half smile to his dad. The chief shook his head, smiling in return at his kid.

"Well we're all glad you trusted us enough to tell us." Joyce smiled at her son. Jonathan, who hadn't said anything stood up and hugged his little brother.

"I thought something bad happened to you. Just know that I'm proud if you and try not to scare us  so much next time, okay?"
