"Damn!" I said, wiping the sweat dripping off with my hands. I tried to hold onto the steel railing near me but lost balance cause of the wobbly condition of my legs.

It was breathtaking the way he immediately pulled me by my waist, closing the distance between us and therefore I pressed my tiny frame against his wide chest. I felt free from any disturbance when his arms wrapped around my waist in a childlike manner.

"I'll have to treat you first." He said, shoving me inside the dangerously dark tunnel.

***

I felt a cold pointed metal being dragged on my chin followed by my jawline, painlessly, It felt like a sharp knife. I squirmed a little, and slowly opened my eyes.

To my surprise, I was lying with my head in his lap the whole time. "Damnit! I was so close to his mind-the-gap that I felt the back hair of my neck stand up. I hummed before getting up making him aware of my consciousness.

"What did just happen?" I asked him, straightening up myself. Surprisingly, he didn't move an inch, but I moved away from a little to my right, bridging a safe distance from him.

He held a small booklet in her hands. How can one read a book while having a girl lay her head on his lap? Why didn't he wake me up?

"You zoned out for a moment." He said without looking at me, smiling.

"Ah! What is happening to me?" I murmured in my breath. I picked up my notebook and a pen, began to solve the questions, trying my best to kill the awkwardness that was infusing in the air, slowly and steadily.

He stood up, walking over to the kitchen counter. "What should I serve you with, a snack or something in liquid?"

He said it in an extremely low tone, I was not sure if he was asking or telling me. I pulled my mind back to my studies although I didn't know what exactly I was scribbling in the notebook then I continued doing it.

"Drink this." He was towering me as stuck a bottle of chilly lemonade onto my ear, a few water droplets glided across my ear shell, sending shivers down my spine.

It was so cold in contrast to my hot body.

I bowed down and he instantly leaned in, taking my notebook in his hands.
After examining my work, he let out an exhaustive gasp. "Hmm... I think you are not feeling well, all answers are wrong." He nodded his head in approval, and then his eyes scanned my face.

After some time he spoke. "Okay, let's -----play a game." He said, enthusiastically clapping his hands. His eyes browsed for space, dragging a wooden chair and placing it right across me.

"So---- it's called 'two truth and one lie', you know the rules right?" He darted his eyes at me, radiating the vibes of his profession. He looked like a strict gentleman who just gave up on his pride and began to act like a teenager.

I nodded.

"You first." He snapped.

"Hell! yes." I replied in my mind. The rules are very simple here you can say three statements. One of them should be true but the two of them you can make up. We used to play this a lot in our school days, pairing up with the opposite gender, but the feeling was anew as I partnered with him, with my professor.

"M-me, okay." I cleared my throat, "Ah... my real hair color is grey, my B-Day is on 31st of August and I purposely killed a person."

He chuckled bitterly after hearing my statements. He leaned forward, elbows on his knees, rubbing his face with his hands. "Lol, the latter part seems to be weird but, why I do find it as one of your truths?" His eyebrows knitted in disbelief.

"What! It's a lie please... understand me." I laughed my heart out.

"Perhaps, are you a killer? Did you get yourself involve in some treacherous act in the olden days, huh? Am I your next target? Let me beg for your forgiveness before you push me off the building."

He got on his knees, pleading in a dramatic manner. Just then his hands made their way to my knees, palming them gently.

"No way! I told you it was a lie and nothing more." My voice grew bubbly.
After some time, something slammed on the brakes to my enormous laugh as it disappeared from my face. The tears that once flowed down my cheek dried up and, I was fortuitously reminded of the malignant incidence that transpired in my life long ago.

"What happens? your face turned all pale."

He touched my face, it was burning red. I instantly pulled away from his hands, without looking him in the eyes. A sudden tension built a contortion of displeasure, disgust, and pain on my face vividly.

"Your turn now," I responded warily, swallowing thickly.

"Okay, I'm a 24/7 dipsomaniac, I'm a proud womanizer, and I want to take someone's life." He said in a juvenile tone.

"What a set of sentences! I don't believe in any of the statements of yours." I started laughing again.

"No Dasom, I'm dead serious right now." He looked fiercely at me, and I stopped laughing after realizing how serious he was.

A while later, he burst into a burst of laughter, and very soon I joined the ride too. "Silly, I was just joking." He said.
