Oversized sweaters had become her staple since her eating disorder was revealed to her sisters. They never let her live it down, always asking her about it or bringing it up in front of peers. She thought it was unprofessional, but everytime she brought it up to their mom, she would turn it back on her so she stopped trying.

"December Ivy Noelle Garcia-Colace. That's...an interesting name." She suddenly feels insecure and habitually pulls at her sleeves.

"Yeah, I think my mom was going through a phase." Her date cocks a goofy grin and she couldn't help but smile herself.

"You have a lovely smile, December." She bows her head, blushing. She hears him shift and she looks up and stares into his brown eyes, a feeling of warmth growing inside her.

"Thank you." She says shyly. He smiles again, showing the gap between his teeth.

"So, what's it like having two older, wrestling sisters?" He asks, trying to start a conversation. She sighs and grabs her coffee, taking a sip.

"If you dont count the fact that they are constantly talking about their accomplishments, it's okay. But...I mean, it can be difficult, as all siblings are." He nods in understanding.

Silence fills the space between them and she takes another sip of her coffee. She keeps her eyes focused on the

things that surrounded him, but didn't keep eye contact with him. She notices him tilt his head as if contemplating asking something.

"December, if I may...and I hope you dont think I'm trying to pry or anything like that, but your sisters mentioned something to me. It kind of seemed as though they were trying to persuade me not to ask you out..." December grips her thighs in preparation for the question she knew he was going to ask.

"Do you have an eating disorder?" The question forces out a small sob, causing tears to begin forming in her eyes. She looks down, her body stiff and tense. She could see the black mascara drops on her white sweater as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Oh shit, no...I didn't mean to upset you." Her date jumps out of his chair and kneels in front of her. He grabs her hands in his and holds them firmly, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb in consolation.

"Its fine." She mumbles as she tries to pull away. "I should go anyways." Her date pulls her hands back towards him, holding them against his chest.

"December, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. That was never my intention." She raises her eyes to look into his brown ones. "Please. I am sorry."

"My eating habits are a sensitive topic, and I don't want to discuss them."

"That's fine!" He says. "We can talk about anything else, like art or music or work. Anything." She notices the guilt and almost pleading look in his eyes.

"Okay." She agrees. He smiles and gets up, stretching slightly. He sits in his seat and she moves so she's facing him again.

"So, art. What kind of art do you do?" He notices her sit up straighter as she goes into the specifics of what she does for her bachelor's degree in the arts. She tells him how she dances and plays cello, as well as sings and writes. As she opens up, he notices her straightening her posture and a slight glow appears on her face.

"...and I make YouTube videos where I sing and play my instruments." His eyes widened in disbelief.

"Wait, really? That's amazing!" He noticed a blush form on her cheeks and he couldn't help but grin. His smile grows as she covers her face with her hands in an attempt to hide her reddening cheeks.

"Yeah, she's super talented. Right, December?" Both of them look up to see Nikki and Brie standing behind December. Bryan and Birdie were near the counter, avoiding the confrontation.

"Ehmm..." was all December could say before she turns and makes eye contact with her date. "I have to go." She mumbles and gets up, leaving the small establishment.

"Nicole, that was rude. We were enjoying our date." Colby pipes up.

"Oh, were you? That's funny...cause December never enjoys any of her dates. We'll probably hear about how horrible it was when we get to her apartment. I'll let you know the scoop at work." Nikki smirks. The twins turn on their heel and head out the door. Colby slumps back into his chair and sighs.

December's Apartment

December sat in front of the small electric fireplace as she tried warming herself up. She had a heated blanket thrown over her shoulders, and another one placed on her lap. Thick fuzzy socks adorned her feet and a thick, oversized hoodie wrapped around her upper body as black leggings clung to her lower half. Her hair was thrown into a braid that laid lazily over her right shoulder and was decorated with a thick beanie with a poof at the end.

It was almost September, and she was freezing. It had stopped raining a couple of hours ago when she got home but she hadn't stopped crying. Of course her sisters would ruin the date by showing up and trying to embarrass her. They always do.

She never even got his number.

She sips at the hot chocolate beside her and grimaces as it burns the back of her throat. She sets it back down and leans against the couch, closing her eyes and semi drifting off to sleep.

Until a knock at the door disturbs her peace.

She gets up, letting both blankets drop to the floor, and heads towards the door. She peeks through the peephole and sighs when she sees it was only her twin sisters and mom.

"C'mon December, we know you're in there!" Brie calls out. December turns her back to the door and leans against it, resting the back of her head against the door.

"I'm not interested in your conversation, especially not after what you did while I was on a date." She calls back.

"We were saving you, Ivy. We saw how bored you were with Colby. And besides, we know how Colby can be - we work with him for crying out loud!" Nicole states which causes December to roll her eyes. She knew they saw her enjoying herself and they wanted to ruin it for her. They always did.

December turns and twists the knob, opening the door with a new found aggression as she stares at her sisters in defiance.

"You know what, twins? Fuck off." She states angrily. "You ruined what was a good date because you like ruining everything for me. You ruined my chance at getting a good job with the company you work for. You ruined my engagement. You ruined every chance I've had at moving out of this dump. So you know what? Get the fuck off my property. I never want to see you again." The twins stare at her in shock. Her mother had backed off midway through the declaration.

"How dare you speak to us that way! After everything we've done for you..." December stares at nikki in disbelief.

"I'm sorry....after everything you've done for me? How about everything you've done to me! You have made me feel like shit on countless occasions. Always bringing up my eating disorder and my body issues. Always making a mockery of it. This is where I draw the line. What you did today was unacceptable and will never happen again. I'm sick and tired of the both of you interrupting and demolishing everything good in my life. First John, now Colby. Get the fuck over yourselves. No wonder John never wanted to marry you, Nicole." December steps back into her apartment and closes the door, locking it and heading back to her spot on the carpet in front of the fireplace.

She was done being pushed around by them.

She'll show them.
