Y/N COULDN'T REMEMBER WHEN IT STARTED. When the corners of her mouth had stopped rising. When she started to interrogate herself every time she made a single decision. When lies regarding her whereabouts started escaping her very own l/c lips. When his 'constructive criticism' morphed itself into blatant insults.
She always had a small bit of hope that things would eventually change. Hoping at the end of the day maybe he would be the one picking up the wet towel. And along with that small feeling of hope came a bigger feeling of dread. Dread knowing that the end to their relationship was inevitable. Her mind had attempted to pray that things would slip into place on their own, being in denial until the dreaded day finally came.
Her phone held thousands of memories. not just in the hundreds of pictures that could tell their story, or in the text messages that held countless secrets untold. It greatly amazed her how the many laughs they once shared there turned into endless arguments. But most of all the silence, the silence of their slightly open lips that once desperately begged them to just say, or at the least utter, how they really felt towards each other. In the end her phone remembered the silence it had to endure between them. She recalled this by sitting in his dorm. Being brought there by another one of his many aggravated calls.
"If you apply to yuuei we're over," Her boyfriend sighed running a hand through his black hair, " I don't know how much more of this I can take." He had officially started his journey to heroism when his acceptance letter from Ketsubutsu Academy had arrived in the mail around a year ago. The moment he had departed from middle school the first of many problems began.
He never wanted to admit but behind those brown eyes of his held concealed insecurities. Most coming from the comments he received on dating a middle schooler. It hit him hard. Their words were like nails and hammers shattering his ego slowly but surely. Underneath that extroverted exterior, he didn't know where he belonged or who he was.
However, the difference between their schools and schedules was another aging factor against them. Their time together had begun to dissolve into itself, sliding through their fingers like worthless pennies. They would've given anything to go back and find a way to spend that time together, savoring those moments instead of wishing them away. But it was too late for that now they were already far gone past that stage when they started this argument.
Y/n's e/c eyes snapped open in shock "Y-Yō you're kidding," She stuttered out, "you know what this school means to me!"
His brown eyes narrowed, "Does it sound like I'm joking?" He hissed.
She could feel the rage from these last couple months quickly come up almost like a huge lump in her throat that she needed to spit out. She had desperately tried to keep it from blowing up in her face but it was already seeping out.
"Oh no, Since everything is always about you!" She snapped slamming her s/c hands on the worn-down table. Now raising herself up so that the two were now on the same eye level.
"Goddammit, Y/n you always pull this shit! When will you fucking learn how to listen!"
"Oh shut up! Everything is always in your fucking favor!"
"That's because every time I try to make things work you always get fucking sensitive about it!"
"Here we go again! You always say everything is my fault!"
Suddenly, Yō took Y/n s/c hands, linking them into his own calloused ones. "It'll be different this time, I promise." He softly pleaded.
"No!" She yelled ripping her hands out of his grip. "Y-You always say that but what makes this time any different." She stuttered, her voice resembling glass, cracking under the weight of her emotions. The familiar feeling of warm water tickling her cheeks had been enough to quiet them.
