So a lot of you have been commenting you're confused or don't remember what happened in the first book. I'm going to do a quick back story so you guys have a fresh memory.
Basically in MBBF Emma is in love with Jax but still dating Alex so in a way she's emotionally cheating on Alex. Alex has already physically cheated on Emma and has suspicion Jax is in love with her.
Time goes on Jax and Emma confess their feelings in a messy way, stubborn way, 3 months of dating, a life time of knowing each other and Jax proposes to Emma. The only one who knows is Amanda Jax's younger sister, who found the ring.
Fast forward to after graduation, Jax goes off to college and Emma stays behind to finish her senior year. Jax stops speaking to Emma because of school and he drifted off and appears on Emma's door step a year later. They reconnect and Emma gets pregnant with Gavin who's soon to be turning five.
Also , don't forget Marissa, Emma's best friend who dated Nick, abused her. Hunter caught feelings for Marissa and started dating. Eight years later they had a baby girl, Maddy who's turning one soon.
Now, a year later they currently live in New York. Emma is a receptionist at a hospital, Marissa stay at home mom, you'll find out soon what hunter decided to work as, and Jax is a drunk who can't sustain a job.
