One Shots

IN NOCTEM

This part is based off of a  fanfiction titled In Noctem (written by I_Am_The_Fallen_One, and it's really beautifully written. But it isn't complete and I reached a part that just... breaks my heart. It's a Tom Riddle fic so... yeah.

"Your my Horcrux!" Those words fell unconsciously from Tom's lips, but he didn't stop there. Before Hadrian could get a word in, or worse leave, Tom was nearly shouting, "Your the only person I've ever cared about, even before... even before I gave you that scar. I love you so much the thought of losing you breaks my heart."

Hadrian watched Tom for an endless moment. Disbelief and love and anger and so many other nameless emotions coated the air between the pair. 

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I was afraid that if I told you the truth, you'd think I didn't mean...  this. That I didn't mean all the touches, and the kisses, and the ring. I'm still afraid that you'll realize that I'm not good enough for you because I'm not. I'm not worthy of you."

Hadrian's lips parted and then closed. And then he surged forward and tackled his lover in a hug. However, Tom wasn't quite done with his declaration, and he never really would be.

"You can't save me at the cost of yourself. I don't deserve it. I've lied to you, and I started this by manipulating you... I--I-- I love you. Your so strong, and good, and dark, and --"

Tom was cut off by the lips of the vampire, the vampire he loves more than anything. It was a furious desperate kind of kiss that involved a person's entire body, and all of their love, and beliefs. It lasted an eternity, and seconds. Years, and days. It was an immortal kiss that would live on, and would be remembered by everyone who witnessed it. 

Their magic danced around shadowed street and adrenaline swam within their veins, just as love filled their soul. They were lost in a moment that wasn't confined to this reality. There is nothing more pure, in any universe, than a confession of genuine love. Of course, this was more than something as simple as that, but no one would ever know exactly how complex, beautiful, and dangerous this one moment was, is, and will always be.

"Tom, I love you."

And everything was okay. Everything would always be fine, as long as they were together.
