Many Years Ago.

Atlas shoves the blade at his friend Eros, almost delivering a fatal wound to his side, right by his kidney. Eros's eyes flare up, lighting a dark amber the colour of the beast that resides within him and he moves away quickly, barely evading the sharp edge of the weapon. He stares wide eyed at the sword embedded on the grass, a bit further from him, that would have been his flesh.

"You need to be quicker than that, Eros or you'll end up dead." Atlas glares at him, his own eyes flashing as he goes to pluck the sword off the ground.

"How are you that good? We're literally the same age!" Eros complains staring mouth agape at Atlas who looks graceful, poised and too mature for his ten years of age.

Atlas sighs, his eyes rushing through Eros uncoordinated weak form. He definitely needs to train, the thought races through his mind.

"Because I train and you should too. You'll be the royal beta in a few years and I prefer a wise, experienced one." He reprimands shooting him a disappointed look and Eros looks away from the burning gaze of the young alpha.

"But we're only ten. Shouldn't we be playing with the other pack children?" Eros rubs the back of his neck, heat rising up to his cheeks with shame. He can't believe he's being scolded by a boy his own age. He also cannot believe he values his opinion of him.

"That's even the more reason to do it. Pups are always underestimated." Atlas sighs shooting him another look, "but if you wish to play with them, you can go."

Eros eyes light up and he unconsciously bows, yelling a loud thank you and rushes off a wide grin spread on his lips.

Atlas stares at his retreating figure realizing Eros is actually right. He doesn't not dwell on it. He walks over to the small punching bag fit for his age and throws rather quick and precise punches. Even at the tender age of ten, his power as an alpha wolf and the son of a king is recognizably evident. Pack members note the power and some children avoid him like the plague, not really understanding the reason behind the uneasy feeling grasping their senses. Atlas doesn't mind it, he rather enjoys staying alone with his thoughts.
