Arc 1: Chapter Five

When Elizabeth woke up, she was surprised to see that her father and Meliodas were in the same room. What exactly happened?

"W-What happened...?" She Asks and it was silent. "Elizabeth...how long have you known Meliodas?" And Elizabeth bites her lip.

"Awhile now...maybe two or three months..." she trails off. "I see," he says, and she couldn't tell wether he was happy or mad. "I forbid you two to see eachother." He Says, And Elizabeth feels her heart speed up.

"You can't do that! Through everything Meliodas has been my only friend...when I couldn't depend on you he was there. Even now, if I hadn't of texted him I could've died."

"Elizabeth, don't argue with me. I don't want you-" "Mr. Liones. Don't you think it's time I've been apart of her life again? I'm sorry about what happened when were younger...but...I promise I'll protect her this time. Just please."

"What are you guys talking about?" Asks Elizabeth.

"Your memories. Elizabeth, when you were younger, you got into an accident that got rid of your memories...which is why we locked you away in the first place. This time...if you have an bad attack, you may not be able to get your memories back."

"...but that doesn't mean you should lock me away...I'm older now, and I wasn't even aware that I had an illness then right?" Her father nods. "Then I'll be careful. Please? Meliodas will be there to take care of me...don't you trust him?"

"Your right...Fine. I'll enroll you to the same school as if, But Meliodas, promise to me you'll protect her with you life?"

"I promise you sir," Says Meliodas just as the doctor comes in.

"It's good She has a childhood friend with her now. It could help trigger some memories, on a sadder note however, she only has about five more years left." She Says and Elizabeth can feel her heart clench.

"Her memories triggering though could add some more years onto that, and even get rid of the illness."

"So I guess me going to school is the best deal...?" Elizabeth Asks her father and he nods.

The days after that were better. She had went on her first trip to the store, only to get her some school supplies. Meliodas only came along to help them choose things out, however, Elizabeth did admire his company.

"I'm telling you...school is gonna be loud, and theirs gonna be obnoxious kids who'll probably bully you for no damn reason. And then-" "I think I'm ready," Says Elizabeth truthfully.

"You Said think." Elizabeth rolls her eyes. "I know I'm ready." She answers. "I don't believe you...which is why I wanna take you somewhere that'll get you adjusted to the school atmosphere. Before you lost your memories they were your friends."

"That's good to know...but will they still like me?" "Like you? Ellie they love you! Everything we pass your house your name is brought up. We never forgot you...we just weren't daring enough to go and talk to you again." He Says, And She didn't realize how close their faces were to eachother until she remembered what happened last time.

"But you were daring enough to..." she trails off. "Yeah because I...I care about you a lot," He Says. He didn't want to say the L word to fast.

"I-I should go ask my sisters for p-permission." She stutters standing up and Meliodas nods, letting her walk away.

That was close. He thinks to himself.

"Veronica, would it be alright if Meliodas took me out to see some old friends of mine? He wants me to get adapted to how loud school will be."

"Hm...sure, but be back by nine." She Says and Elizabeth nods, running up the stairs to get Meliodas before coming back down with her phone and him standing beside her.

"I'm guessing this isn't in walking range?" She Asks. Meliodas shakes his head. "Nope, so this'll be your first time in my car."

"I don't think your a safe driver..." Jokes Elizabeth as she sits down in the passengers seat, buckling her seatbelt.

"I'm the safest driver ever." He Answers as he drives off. They drive a good ten minutes before pulling up to an house in the middle of nowhere.

"Is this safe?" She asks him, watching as he gets out the car. "Of course it is. I wouldn't let any danger come to you. Now come on princess." Says Meliodas as he opens her door and reaches his hand out.

"Who gave you permission to call me princess?" She Asks, taking his hand.

"You are one so it doesn't count," He Says as they near the door and Elizabeth can feel her heart pick up, but it slows down when he wraps his hand into hers.

"Don't be scared." He tells her before opening the door, and as soon as he does she's met with more people.

"Meliodas! And whose this- Wait, Elizabeth!" And the brown haired girl quickly goes to hug her. "Don't be too hard Diane, you know she lost her memories."

"Yeah," Diane smiles sadly. "I know,"

"Elizabeth, this is Diane." Says Meliodas, introducing her.

"It's nice to meet you again Diane," Says Elizabeth, even though she couldn't remember.

"Wait, is that really Elizabeth?" Speaks up a short boy with brown here. "Yup! C'mon Ellie." Says Meliodas, leading her to where everyone is sitting.

"You already met Diane, the short boy with brown hair is King, the blonde haired girl next to him is Elaine, next to her is Merlin, she's in college but she still hangs out with us, and she does an internship at our school so she's practically always there."

"I'm Ban, nice to see you again Ellie," Says Ban. "He's clearly drink, so stay away from him," Says King rolling his eyes. "Lastly Ellie, this is Gowther, Escanor, and Author. Like Merlin, he's in college but always at our school."

"I-it's nice to see you all again..." Elizabeth trails off, becoming a bit shy.

"She hasn't changed, still as shy as ever." Merlin smirks. "That's true, I hope we can become good friends again Elizabeth!" Says Elaine.

And for once, Elizabeth finally got what she wanted.
