"I'm so done with North West High," Zak decided as he paced around Darryl's kitchen. Darryl himself was sitting on the counter, tossing popcorn up into the air and catching it with his mouth. Sometimes he missed, so there were a couple of kernels spread across the kitchen floor.

Zak had already gone through a week's worth of in-school suspension, just sitting in a classroom staring at a wall, while occasionally worked on a worksheet. According to the ex-baseball boy, he did this routine all day every day. It seemed to drive him mad.

Darryl, on the other hand, has been pretty bored all week. At lunch he sat with Vincent, trying to steer clear from the drama. None of them were at lunch, since Finn and Zelk were suspended and the others were in lunch detention. Darryl had heard that Zelk had made up to Finn, but Darryl wasn't sure how Finn felt about Zak yet.

After lunch, Darryl would work on his community hours by helping the lunch ladies clean up. It wasn't all that bad, most of them were very sweet and nice to him. After school, Darryl would help out the librarian for more service hours even though he does that anyway. So the punishment hasn't been so bad.

"You know, by the way you've explained the situation, it seems like you can get back on the team next year," Darryl pointed out to the black haired kid.

Zak stopped in his tracks, spinning on his heels to face Darryl with a frustrated face. "I know but baseball is my life, I don't think I can survive a whole year without it," He replied with a whine, sticking out his bottom lip into a pout.

Darryl rolled his eyes, picking out a piece of popcorn and throwing it straight at Zak. The kernel landed right in between his eyes, causing the younger boy to flinch slightly. Darryl laughed. "You're not taking me seriously, are you?" The sophomore asked with a sigh.

The older shrugged. "Well, it's pointless to throw a tantrum over something we can't control, so why don't we focus on something we can control?" Darryl suggested, throwing up another popcorn piece and attempting to catch it in his mouth. The food bounced off of his teeth and landed on the kitchen floor.

"Like what?" Zak asked. "I can't do much in school, since I have another weeks worth of in-school suspension left."

Darryl stared at the shorter boy. "We could... make it right with the rest of the gang," He suggested. "Schedule to go to a movie or something. It's a Friday night tonight, it'll be busy, so maybe we could plan one for tomorrow night?"

Zak shook his head. "You think they're just going to go to a movie with us willingly after that whole fiasco?" He questioned with astonishment. "I'd be surprised if they even replied to a text message."

Darryl bit the inside of his cheek. "Well... start with an apology. Follow that up with the invite, and whoever says 'yes' is worth keeping as a friend. Plus, it wasn't completely our fault for the suspension, so they can't be too mad."

Zak ran his fingers through his hair nervously. "Alright, uh... I'm gonna write out an apology. I'll say 'Yo I am sorry about the whole fight-thing, wanna go to  movie tomorrow?'."

Darryl shook his head. "Now that just seems like you don't care."

"I do care!"

"Well, make it seem like you do!"

"I don't know how!"

"Here, let me help you."

For the next ten minutes, Darryl helped Zak write out an apology for each individual that was involved in the drama. Even people that were on their side, such as Brianna and Zelk. Darryl wanted everything that happened to be cleared up, and he knew that he could use the movie meetup as a way of building the broken relationship.

"Okay, I think it's ready to send," Zak finally decided after typing out on his phone for a while. "My fingers are cramping up anyways."

"Wait!" Darryl exclaimed, snatching the younger boy's phone. The senior then added a period. "Periods make it seem more genuine," He explained as he handed the device back to the sophomore.

Zak smiled, taking a deep breath and hit 'send'. He hit the 'send' button five more times, one for each person that was involved. Darryl placed his hand on Zak's shoulder, his thumb rubbing in circles as a comforting gesture.

"Man, I really hope I didn't screw up everyone's friendship," The black haired boy sighed to himself.

The older brown haired kid looked over at Zak with frustration. "Hey, don't blame yourself. You've got enough on your shoulders already, including how we're going to get you back on the baseball team."

Zak's face lit up. "Really? You know a way?" He asked with excitement.

Darryl shrugged. "We can try a petition, they work like 15% of the time. There's no doubt that we'll get enough signatures, since you practically carry the rest of the team. The difficult part will be the school board to give into the petition."

Zak just stood there grinning for a few moments. Then he lunged forward and wrapped his arms around Darryl, pulling the older into a hug. "Thank you," The younger mumbled, his voice muffled since his face was practically shoved into Darryl's chest.

The senior laughed, ruffling Zak's hair. "No problem."

A/N: haha here u go, hope u enjoyed :P
