Adam Torres didn't want to be here. He didn't want to be at the 'Welcome Back, Degrassi Students!" bonfire, because Bianca didn't want to show up, leaving him flying solo. Even though she was popular, she didn't like coming to parties like this. So, he ended up hanging with one of Degrassi's power couples, KC and Jenna, being as cute as ever while he just walked around the beach behind them. He loved the serene atmosphere the perfect distance away from the party so you couldn't hear barely anything but faint music.

He kept walking and kicking random rocks. He knew it was crazy to have been outed by his girlfriend and everyone just accept him with open arms. He smiled at the thought, not looking where he was going, and ran into someone. The other person fell. Adam's eyes went wide and he started to help them up.

"God, I'm so sorry, I'm such a klutz." He reached his hand down and she grabbed it. He pulled the person up to see a pair of beautiful blue eyes staring back at him.

"I already knew that Katie." He said, smirking at the girl.

"Oh well now I don't feel bad about running into you!" She smiled and Adam laughed.

"Feeling the love Katie, I really am." He said, moving a hand over his heart,

Katie shook her head at his dramatics as they heard laughter coming from the bonfire. "Hey, you wanna go check out what's going on?" She asked. He nodded and the two walked to the bonfire quickly. Adam saw his friend, Alli Bhandari, and Dave Turner. The pair were laughing and cuddling. Adam was surprised. He didn't know they had gotten together over break. Last he knew Dave was still dating Sadie.

He and Katie sat down and Adam said, "Hey, guys."

Alli looked away from Dave and smiled. "Hey Adam! Hey Katie!" Alli said, smiling to the two new arrivals.

Katie smiled back. "Hi."

The four talked and laughed, watching the others and talking to them, too. Adam liked how easy it was for the four of them to talk. He always enjoyed Katie's company. He looked at Katie. She was incredibly beautiful. And he used to have a huge crush on her, but they never happened. So he moved onto Bianca. Katie looked over at him and smiled as he got a weird feeling in his stomach.

He looked at Dave and Alli, with their arms around each other, looking in love. He looked around the campfire. Pretty much everyone was paired off, except for him and Katie. Not that he was complaining. He wondered what she would do if he put his arm around her for some reason. He really wanted to. But he couldn't. He was with Bianca. She was with his brother. That would be weird right?

He sighed inwardly as someone called Katie's name. Her face lit up and she excused herself, getting up from the group and running to her best friend, Marisol. Frowning, he turned back to the fire. Of course. He shouldn't be feeling like this though. Especially when they were both seeing other people. Maybe it was best that she hadn't stayed. It saved both of them from a lot of relationship drama or unrequited feelings.

He kept telling himself that, but he couldn't help but feel the knots in his stomach when Katie looked back at him, smiled and waved. He smiled and waved back. Feeling the knots in his stomach, one dangerous thought crept into his mind.

'I don't think I ever got over her.'
