The Dark Night.

Everything seemed so surreal that night,
Both of us, together by the riverside,
Swollen eyes, looking into each other's eyes,
Holding hands, scared for our lives.

Being with you, I knew there was a spark.
But who knew we would just fall apart.
Just like that, leaving a big scar,
Our whole life got sucked into the dark.

Footsteps were heard, from faraway,
Approaching us like a knife to the heart,

Roaring in hostility, nothing left to say.

We sprinted across till our legs felt numb.

Running through the dark night,
Where the moonlight was our guide,
Vision blurry from agony,
Our legs leading us to the dark, which was all that we could see.

Had to stop by a big wall, breathing heavily,
Sudden rush of fear filling our veins.
Hearts beating rapidly in synchrony,
But failed to be heard by the cruel world.
Holding our hands tighter than ever,
We closed our eyes, waiting for it all to end.
