Ten Years Later...

I sit by my computer desk, my phone going off. 'Yo! (Y/N)? Where were you,' I look at the text message, sighing. It's baseball season so, of course, Leon was playing. It was their first game today. I was too nervous to go. I ended up getting a crush on him during 5th grade. I would always go to his events, but today something stopped me. I don't know what it was but I couldn't go. As I shove my face in my knees I hear the door slam shut, and in comes my mom drunk. I sigh, hearing fake laughter from downstairs. Another drunken male she found at the bar. I get up and close my door. I knew what happens next. My phone started ringing. I looked at my phone to see the contact ID -- Leon <3. I pick up, whispering, "Yeah?" "Where were you?" Leon asks, "And why are you--" he heard the noises, "Oh." I bite my bottom lip, "Yeah. Mom's drunk again, and with another stranger." "I'm surprised she doesn't have HIV or AIDS or somethin'." I force out a laugh. "Why don't you sneak out and we can hang out?" I was thinking of an excuse when my computer tinged. "What the..." I trail off, looking at what I got. Congratulations! You are invited to attend Hope's Peak Academy! "I'm gonna have to call you back," I say quietly. "(Y/N)?" Leon calls out before I hang up. I stare at my screen, my stomach in knots. Hope's Peak? Isn't that where gifted children or rich people go to? The School of the Ultimates is what some of my friends call it. I'm not Ultimate in anything. I check my report, or why they're making me attend. (Y/N) (Y/L): The Ultimate Brave Student
