Brantley knew he shouldn't feel so jealous, but anyone could see there was some type of connection between K.C and John. It made him mad, he really liked the dude too. He had to shake it off and ignore it, K.C wouldn't leave him, and he didn't mean that in a cocky way either. Finishing his breakfast, his mom took his plate with a knowing look. "Don't look into it somethin when there's nothin there baby." He was confused until she sat down. "All you see is K.C talkin to another man baby. That ain't what it is. Look closer, thats her brother. You can see it on her face hun. So don't go puttin wedges where they don't go. You both have enough on your plate." Now he just felt stupid. "I just don't wanna lose her." "Then don't control her. K.C is a free spirit baby, you try to reign that in and she will fight you to the death. Talk to her, let her know how you feel before just assuming." He nodded, knowing his mom was right as he leaned in for her to kiss his forehead. "Thanks momma." He didnt know Christmas had heard everything. The Englishman sat next to the singer, swalloing his food before talking. "Rest easy mate. There's nothing there but a sibling love. She's all you all the time." Brantley nodded thankfully, trying to just stop talking about it. "So what happens after y'all find this guy?" Christmas shrugged, "We wait on our next mission. K.C probably gets an honorable discharge and the rest go back to their lives." Brantley nodded, "So y'all like, live for this?" Lee nodded solumly, "It's what we do. Someone has to do the shit no one else will. If you're wonderin if K.C is gunna try to stay with us, the answer is I doubt it." He just looked to the knife man blankly, who in turn smirked, "It's all over your face mate.  You want her here with you. But, that ain't in her blood. If she does, take it. But, she's a woman who goes with the flow, and you need to accept that quickly." Brantley nodded in understanding and stood up, "Thanks man. Anything y'all need, just holler." Shaking hands with the Englishman, Brantley headed upstairs to shower and change. If he could keep everything off his mind, he'd be okay. Between the bullshit with Jana and how he felt about his girlfriend and her "brother", his mind was in overload. To say he wanted a drink already would be an understatment. Just as he was starting the shower and slipping his shorts off, he heard the door open. Quickly sliding his shorts back up, he peeked around and noticed K.C leaned over his desk holding her side. "You okay babe?" His brows furrowed with concern as he stepped towards her. He saw her nod and pick her head up, clearly trying to play off her pain. "I'm good. I wanted to talk to you though." He sat down on his old bed, gently pulling her with him and faced her, holding her hands. "I wanna make is perfectly clear, and I only am because I saw the look on your face when we walked back inside. John is nothing more than a brother. He's you, minus me being in love with him. I love him, just purly in a brotherly way. You get me? I'm the same to him. The only reason why he pulled me outside is cuz I'm the only one that really knows whats goin on with his girl. Which, is now his ex and the baby he thought he was havin ain't even his." She paused and let him take all that she said in. Now he really felt like an asshole. Sighing, he sat foward and ran his hands over his face, pushing his hat up slightly. "That sucks. I get it baby, you know how I am. I over analyze and get myself in trouble." She kissed him sweetly and rolled her eyes, "That's why I came up here. Besides, I waited too long for you, you ain't gettin' rid of me so easy." He grinned and captured her lips with his for a moment when a thought came to his head, "How'd you get up the stairs so fast?" That look came over her face, the same one she always made when she was caught. "It might not hurt as much as I let on." She grinned innocently, trying not to giggle. He rolled his eyes, "It hurt this morning when I first got up, but its not as bad now. I can walk better." She admitted, looking down a bit. "You wanted to see what I'd do?" K.C shrugged a bit, "Kinda. Just knowing you'd stay by my side if I was hurt means a lot with what I do Brantley." Now he was a bit intrigued, "What else?" She cocked her eyebrow as he leaned back and propped up on his elbow, taking his hat off and holding her hand absent mindedly. "What else makes you feel better?" Looking down, she thought deeply. "Honesty, you've never lied to me, so I know you wont start now. Um, Loyalty I guess, you've always been there for me whether you understood or not. You have drive, ambition, you're humble, you don't settle for anything less than what you want. Oh, and you're sexy as fuck, anyone say that yet today?" By the end of her rambling, Brantley was chuckling at her. "What about me?" To say she was curious surely wouldn't be a lie, especially since his feelings kind of came from no where for all she knew. He looked at her for a moment, staring off with a small smile. "You remember when I got my license and daddy gave me that blue truck?" K.C smiled a bit, waiting. "When I pulled up to your house an you came runnin' out, those damn shorts you always wore, flip flops in your hand and one of my wife beaters. I don't know if it was the way your hair whipped as you ran, that killer ass smile, those amazing blue eyes, or the fact that someone as pretty as you was that excited to see me. I guess thats when I felt it. Just had no damn idea what to do with it. And I thought I'd gotten passed it, but the second you walked through that door it slapped me right in the face. I guess thats why I got mad. I tried to control it and focus on Jana, but the more I saw you, the faker I realized she was. And that, I haven't even told my mom." He ended with a wink. K.C was in awe, "Seriously?!" Brantley laughed and nodded. "We're fuckin idiots." They both laughed, "Answerin your question though, most of what you said, Honesty, loyalty, drive, ambition, humble. I swear, I think you have no fear, and the way you've never given up, ever. Your eyes too, good Lord K.C, you could kill me with them. You're the whole package baby." He kissed her again and pulled her close. "So, we cool now?" She looked to him as he smiled slightly and nodded, "I trust you baby." "Good. I trust you too. Now, lets get a shower." She smiled devilshly. Her mom had taught her at least one thing, no matter what the situation, always be honest with your significant other. Didn't matter if feelings got hurt, you always say what you feel.
