"Be back before midnight!" your mother called out as you stepped outside.

"Of course, mom!" You closed the door.

Hands in your pockets, you made your way to possibly your favourite place on earth: The Museum of Natural History. After a brisk walk, you made it inside and decided to go upstairs to check out some exhibits. As you reached the steps, an incoming text message alerted you by the vibration of your phone in your pocket. You pulled out your phone and unlocked it, heading up the stairs, your eyes still on the screen.

Preoccupied and lost in thought, your step suddenly faltered and you felt the harsh pull of gravity dragging you down. Luckily, before you collided with anything, a man gripped your arm and helped set you upright.

"Careful, Y/N. You should watch where you're going," a very familiar western voice remarked.

You turned and looked at the man beside you, almost doing a double-take when you realized who it was. "Jed?! You're..."

"A Gigantor," he replied, a smirk growing upon his lips.

"How?" you asked, completely forgetting about everything else.

"Ahk did some voodoo magic with his tablet, and now I'm big."

"And so am I."

Octavius stood at the top of the stairs and was apparently telling the truth too. He was just as normal-sized as Jed. Perhaps a few inches shorter. You couldn't really tell.

Nevertheless, you and Jed walked up to meet him. At the top, Octavius reached for your hand and held it, bringing it up to his lips and pressing a soft kiss onto your knuckles. You blushed. He lowered your hand but still kept it in his grasp. "It's good to finally meet you," he commented, a nod to both of you now at equal height. Jed scoffed. Of course, you had previously met, but that was when he was smaller.

"Alright, hold your horses, amigo. You're big for five seconds and you're already hitting on Gigantor's daughter."

"I'm willing to bet you had the same intentions, cowboy," Octavius remarked.

Thankfully—before the conversation could escalate any further, your father and Ahkmenrah spotted you three and came over to you. "Y/N, I see you've met Jed and Octavius," Larry half-joked, nodding to both of them in turn.

"How is this even possible?" you asked, glancing from Jed, to Octavius, to Ahkmenrah.

"It was an accident, really," Ahk explained. "It's a simple enchantment to make them appear human, but I'm afraid I might have miscalculated the process...I'm not exactly sure how long it will last," he added, in regard to the confused expression you had been making.

"Well, let's hope it doesn't last more than 10 hours," Larry commented. "It'll be hard to explain this to Dr. McPhee."

"Not unless he doesn't see them," you thought aloud, your mind visiting the room where you had confronted the three previous night guards: Cecil, Reginald, and Gus.

"What do you mean?" Larry asked.

"They could just stay in the storage room for the night. I highly doubt Dr. McPhee even steps foot in there."

"Alright," Larry relented. "For now, Ahk, you try and figure out when they'll change back." Then your father turned to you. "Y/N, bring Jed and Octavius to the storage room and stay with them."

You nodded, turning to head back down the stairs. "Oh, and guys?" Larry added, a little quieter, getting the attention of Jed and Octavius. "Hands off my daughter."

"No promises," Jed muttered, scratching the back of his head. Luckily, your father didn't catch that. He and Ahk left without another word.

"Well, Y/N," Octavius spoke, his arm outstretched in front of him, "Lead us to the storage room."
