Benjamin knew what a number neighbor was. Obviously. He may not have won that iPad, but he wasn't dumb.... well... ANYWAY-

But he never planned on texting his own. He'd thought about it, of course, but he was never too curious to see who had a phone number close to his.
In his world of school, TikTok, photography, and whatever else he did, it just didn't matter.

Benji just got back from his vacation in Switzerland. And as much as he loved Madrid, it was nice to get away for a while.

He was just putting away the last of his clothes when his phone dinged.

He couldn't help but wonder who it was.. Syd was at a basketball game and Noen was out of town, so he wasn't expecting any texts.

But either way, he paused the Friends that he wasn't really watching and opened the text.

"Omg hi🤧✌️✌️😎✌️"

The number looked familiar to Benji. It took him a moment to realize it was his number neighbor.

He thought about just ignoring it, but then again, he thought, what the hell, might as well just reply. If they end up being creepy or something, I can just block them.

So he replied. "omg hi you too✌️".

His neighbor replied almost immediately with a GIF that said "I love you". Benji thought it was a bit strange, but he didn't really stop to question it too much before replying with his own GIF.

They texted back and forth for a little bit. He found out his neighbor was 17 and lived in Barcelona, but he learned that one just from the area code.

The way the person typed was interesting to Benji. He didn't know anyone like that.

But before he knew it, the neighbor had to go. They said their goodbyes and Benji hoped they would text him again, but for some reason, he doubted it.

He shrugged the feeling off and added them to his contacts as "# neighbor🥺".

Benji sighed, tossing his phone onto his bed and folding up another shirt.

And he felt a bit excited. For the first time in a long while.
