Sixteen

Jealousy

I was at school with Cameron.
We were holding hands and our fingers intertwined.
We were on the gym bleachers hanging out with all of the guys.
"So how's the love life?" Jack j asked. "Great!"
Cameron said as he kissed me on the lips.
Nash looked really mad.
I don't know why he was ignoring me. He always talks to me in the morning. I'll talk to him on my free period.
The bell rang and everybody went to class.
It was my free period so I texted Nash to meet me in the back of the school.
5 minutes later he showed up.
"You wanted to see me?" He asked. "Um yeah. I did. I just wanted to know why you've been ignoring me ever since yesterday when we were playing truth or dare."
"I can't tell you why. It will change everything."
"Why do you mean it will change everything?"
He looked away from my face.
"I can't." He said.
"Can't what?"
"I can't control myself around you."
His face turned blush immediately.
"I mean-"
"Its ok Nash. You only think of me as a friend. And that's all you want to be. I've tried to get over you. That's why I went for Cameron. I knew you would never love me the way that I love you." I said.
He walked towards me.
"But I do love you."
"Yeah as a best friend."
"No you don't understand. I love you. You are my best friend but I don't want be just that. I thought that you didn't want to be that. That's why I didn't ask you."
"Ask me what?"
"Ask you to you know be-"
"Be your girlfriend?"
"Yeah."
"Well I would've said yes."
He looked shocked.
"It's too late now." He said.
"I guess it is."
We both looked disappointed.
"Well I'm gonna go to class now." He said.
"Okay. I'll come with you."
