The "someone" Squidward was thinking about was...
Spongebob.

He started having feelings for Spongebob a while ago.
It was "Annoy Squidward Day" 2018, a year ago.
Squidward woke up at the sound of Spongebob's alarm clock.
It was 7am.
"That seemed EXTRA loud today!" Squidward announced, to no one.
Squidward looked at the clock, realizing the time. He tried to go back to sleep, but couldn't, no matter what.
Squidward walked over to the calendar, checking the date.
"Uh oh." He says, realizing what day it is.
February 15th.
Squidward wanted to hide, and managed to squeeze himself under his bed when he heard a noise.
It sounded like breaking glass.
He heard Spongebob and Patrick's idiotic laugh.
"UGHH!!!!" Squidward was as hidden as he could be now, but then he realized that maybe he was too loud.
Spongebob and Patrick came running up the stairs, and lifted Squidward's bed, revealing him curled up in a ball.
They chased him downstairs, and then after they started throwing plates and pans on the ground, Squidward kicked Spongebob and Patrick out.
Soon, Spongebob and Patrick were found rolling around in the mud in front of Squidward's house, blowing bubbles.
Squidward was watching them from the window.
He soon found himself staring at Spongebob.
Smiling.
He was finding Spongebob's idiotic laugh... cute.
Squidward realized that he had a crush, and couldn't deny the fact.
He walked away from his window, and lay down on his bed.
He then realized something.
He couldn't tell Spongebob that he liked him.
He knew Spongebob would never like him back, because Squidward is so rude to him all the time.
He realized this, and kept just being rude because he became more miserable knowing his crush would never love him back.

Squidward turned his TV on super loud to drown out the noise of Spongebob and Patrick's laughter.
He put on a movie and made himself a cup of tea.
Before the movie was even over, Squidward fell asleep.
He woke up the next morning, and realized he had work.
He got up and walked out of his tiki head house.
Unfortunately, Spongebob jogged out of his house as Squidward walked out of his.
Spongebob jogged next to Squidward and held his hand up for Squidward to high-five him.
Squidward ignored him.
"CAN'T YOU JUST MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS AND STAY AWAY FROM ME?!?!?!" Squidward yelled.
Spongebob slowly pulled his hand back into his pocket.
He looked really sad.
"Sponge?" Squidward asked.
Spongebob started to cry a little.
