Chapter 19

The assistant put the small microphone on Usagi's chest as they set up for the interview. A hairdresser was behind her as he fixed a few hairs on her odangos. She kept her face relaxed and joyful as the Neo Queen let them fix her up.

"You look great, Neo Queen Serenity." The reporter gushed as she came to her on the couch. "I am so grateful for you taking me up on my offer. I have always enjoyed talking to you and listening to your views."

"Thank you, I appreciate it." She said warmly. Despite all the drama, she always tried to keep a happy face on for her people. Usagi believed in giving them the best version of herself.

"Ah, King Endymion!" The reporter exclaimed as he walked in. He was wearing his traditional light purple outfit. He smiled at her as she greeted him. "If you could sit right beside your wife, I want to make sure to show the world that you two are still the same love birds as before."

"I can easily do that." Mamoru said with a mischievous smile as he kissed her forehead to greet her. She felt the couch give as his weight was next to her. She gracefully put her hand on his knee as he put his on top.

Usagi looked at him and smile. "Thank you for doing this."

"Anything for you." He whispered to her.

The reporter sat in her chair across from them as the lights beamed down to them. The production people behind the reporter began to run around as they prepared to go live. Usagi felt the hair dresser do last minute touch ups before being shooed off.

On her neck, she felt a hot breath breeze against her. "The rebels will rise."

Her eyebrows knitted as she looked back. The hairdresser was already out of her view and behind the stage. Her head moved slowly back as the words floated in her head. The rebels?

"Alright, 5. 4. 3. 2..."

"Goodmorning, Crystal Tokyo!" The reporter said brightly. "Today, we have special guest for you. Earlier this week, news swept the Kingdom as pictures showed King Endymion with a Neo Queen's Sailor Scout. Now, we have a special interview with the couple to explain about what happened and their plans."

Turning to the couple, she flashed her smile again. "Hello, Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion. It is always a pleasure to see you two sitting on my couch."

"The pleasure is ours." Mamoru reflected the same smile with warmth in his voice.

"How have you two been since the photo leak?"

Usagi looked at her husband then back at the reporter. "Well, we can't lie and say it has been easy. But we are working on things. The news did take me by surprise but we have full intentions on working through this as a married couple should."

"King Endymion, can you explain what happened to cause this photo?"

His fingers squeezed Usagi's hand as the big question came up. "Yes, gladly. Unfortunately, I was weak weak and fell for temptation. Only small minded men cheat on their wives and I am afraid I changed into one of them. I have no excuses for my behavior, only remorse."

"So this is Sailor Pluto, the Guardian of Time and Space, correct?"

"Correct."

"Did this come as a surprise to you, Neo Queen Serenity? This is one of your trusted friends in your circle that has stood by your side for years."

"It did." Usagi lied. "Since the Princess was born, I have been busy finding my place as a mother, wife, and Queen. I was blindsided by the news about my husband with a friend. At first, I blamed myself and wondered what I could have done differently. But after we talked for a long time, my husband admitted that he was fully in the wrong and I was not at fault."

"It sounds like you two had to have a come-to meeting."

"We did." Mamoru answered. "At first, it was like a scene in a movie. My wife was angry, as she should have been. But once the two of us calmed down, we had a real adult talk. We talked about our future, our plans, and how to solve our issues."

"There is talk about divorce." The reporter started with a raised eyebrow. "An anonymous tip called in saying the Neo Queen filed. Is that true?"

"It couldn't be anymore wrong." Usagi laughed lightly as she held Mamoru's hand. "We are fully committed to each other. My husband made a mistake but we still believe a marriage is a sacred bond between two people. We took our vows to heart and we will continue to practice them. I know this affair as created a large problem in our relationship but we know we will be stronger and closer in the end."

"You two are going to work on things?"

"Of course. I am grateful to have a forgiving wife that believes and loves me." Mamoru smiled at her as his eyes gleamed. His words were genuine.

"Looks like Crystal Tokyo's favorite couple have trumped another problem together! How is our little Princess doing?"

"She is great!" Usagi gushed. "It is amazing to watch her grow. She soaked us everything she sees and hears. I can't believe our little baby isn't a baby for much longer."

"You are throwing a large party, right?"

"Yes, we are inviting our close friends to the Palace to celebrate her first birthday. I am excited to see how she reacts to everyone and having her own personal small cake to herself. I have heard there is also celebrations in town for her as well, which we are grateful for."

The reporter nodded. "Yes! There will be a parade and festivities all day. I think the entire town will be painted pink for the Little Princess. Any plans for another child?"

The couple laughed. "We like to play it by ear. If it may be permitted, we won't oppose."

"Well thank you for coming to my show today for an interview. I hope all goes well with your daughter's birthday party in two weeks and you two work it out. Before we go, would you like to say any last words before we end?"

"Yes." Usagi said as she looked from her husband to the camera. "I want to thank all the people who have stayed faithful to us as we go through this this hard time. No matter how our personal life is, our number one priority is our Kingdom and the people within it. I am grateful for all the people in our lives and hope we can win back the favors again."

"And I am sure you can do it easily, Neo Queen Serenity." The reporter turned away from the couple and into the camera. "And that is our interview with the Royal Couple. I hope all of you have a great day and I will see you again in the morning! Hail, Neo Queen Serenity!"
