Chapter 38 - Why Can't You Accept I'll Never Be Yours

Emily's P.O.V -

I ran down the stairs and out the door . I didn't turn back to see if he had followed me . I didn't want to . I tried to help him and he totally took advantage of it . I slammed the front door open and stopped

It was too far to walk , I still had to go in the car with josh. Thoughts raced through my head . I could ask brads mom but then shed ask why and that was too difficult to explain , I could catch the train but I didn't have enough money. My only option was to get in the car with josh.

I heard footsteps behind me and I turned around to face josh. He opened his mouth

" I -....."

" save it " I cut him off with a cold monotone voice as he unlocked the door and stepped inside .

I saw his face drop as he decided to leave whatever he was going to say . I didn't want to hear it either . At the moment i hated him. i hated his ways , i hated how he had not done it once but twice. i wanted to get as far away from him as i could. I opened the door and sat in the back seat. As far away from josh as possible. The whole journey to the hospital was slow and agonising . I could feel him glaring at me through the wing mirrors every time we stopped at a traffic light .

I just looked out the window and tried to ignore it . I could feel him looking through the mirror at me again as I looked up at him. He gave me a weak smile . I scoffed at him as I turned back to the window and stared at the outside world . I started to see signs directing us to the hospital as I looked up and saw it wasn't far .

As I saw the hospital approach coming closer and closer I just wanted to leap out the door and walk now. My heart was beating faster as we approached the car park and the time for me to get out the car was nearly here . He parked the car and I leaped out . I just wanted to go, go anywhere so long as it was as far away from josh as possible.

I collected brads things and made my way for the automatic sliding hospital doors . I stepped up onto the Path as I heard footsteps quicken behind me. My breathing hitched as I continued to fast walk. I felt someone brush against my body and I was violently pulled to the side . Josh grabbed my wrist and swung me round to face him.

" josh let go of me" I screamed as he tightened his grip on my wrist and I dropped brads things . I tried to prize his fingers apart with my other hand. He just grabbed my other hand and now both of my wrists were being pulled and twisted in different directions as I struggled out of his grasp .

" josh your hurting my wrists let go" I screamed once again

" No" josh shouted back his voice cold and angry . I started to get scared. I'd never seen josh angry before and what he could do frightened me

" Not until you listen " josh shouted again

I struggled more and more as tears tore down my face. I tried to get my wrists back and out of his hands . He just tightened his grip . It was like he was stabbing me. I struggled even more but it just made it worse. I couldn't breath

" josh please" I squealed in pain

" let me explain" he shouted again as he pulled me towards the outside hospital wall

" No Josh" I screamed

He covered my mouth with his had . He forced my mouth shut as his fingers dug into my check .

" Help, Somebody Help" I screamed through his hand , it just came out as a muffle noise nobody could hear it .

" shut up" josh roared as he dragged me back down to where the car was parked

I struggled backwards until I reached something .

" slam"

I tripped backwards over the edge of the path . Sending me and josh flying onto the floor. I hit my head off the ground and lay there for a few seconds unconscious . I suddenly remembered what had just happened and I bolted up. My head still spinning from the fall I got up quickly and josh was still on the floor . I rubbed my wrists got brads things and ran ink the hospital

" I'll find you " I heard josh roar as I stepped inside the hospital

I needed to go somewhere . Anywhere. I couldn't go back to Connor looking like this he'd want to know what happened and I couldn't tell him. Not now . I couldn't bring myself to do it . I walked down a random hospital corridor . They all looked the same. Anti septic , clean and polished . I found the toilets and pushed the door open

I crawled inside the toilet , my back slouched and slid down the door . Silent sobs escaped my mouth . Why does this keep happening to me . I never wanted this to happen . I love my boyfriend Connor so why does everything keep going wrong . What have I done to deserve this . Tears rolled down my cheek as I felt them get sore from the amount of water exposed on them . I wiped away the tears before unlocking the toilet door .

I headed for the sink as more tears replaced the ones I had just wiped away. I looked horrible . Make up streaming down my face like someone had just attacked me with a paintbrush and my cheeks red raw from crying . My eyes looked dull and bloodshot . I looked down to my wrists . They were raw red and had finger marks from where josh grabbed me tight and dragged me along the floor . My head banged from where I stumbled and fell. My knees were grazed and my top torn .

I straightened out my top so you couldn't see the tear. I sashed water on my face whilst hanging onto the basis in so that I didn't start crying again and I covered my wrist up with a jacket I had taken off . There . I looked fine but I felt a idiot . I felt violated and abused by a supposed friend . I felt attacked and assaulted . But there was nothing I could do.

I opened the toilet door and stepped back into the corridor only to be faced with something else

Josh

" I told you I'd find you " he smirked as he lifted himself off the ground and sauntered himself over to me . My heart raced as I walked in the opposite direction and away from him .

" you can't get away from me forever" he shouted as I walked quicker and quicker away. I slammed through the double doors as I walked quicker and quicker . I heard the squelch of the floor fade as I went through another set of door and relief washed over me as I stopped and leaned against the door . Noticing that it was a deserted corridor I slid down the door as my breath returned back to normal and my limbs felt relaxed

" you can't get away from me forever"

What was he going to do to me
