Chapter 29: New Friends Part 3!

Oka's POV:
     Ujurak has been teaching me how to swim, and I'm getting better at it. I don't need him to hold onto me anymore, not that I didn't mind it. I swam all the way across the lake and grinned. I looked up at Ujurak, whom stood on the edge watching me, and he was smiling too. I helped me out and then I pushed him in. He splashed in the water and I laughed. I looked down at the calm water, but didn't see him. He splashed up through the surface, grabbing me, and pulling me back in. We both reached the surface and laughed as I playfully nudged him. "Seriously?" I asked. "You started it." Ujurak replied as he playfully nudged me. I heard noise abd everyone stopped in our tracks. Then Blythe stepped forward, and starred at all of us, and we all starred at her. "Who are you?" Chulyin asked. "Her name is Blythe, I met her earlier." I replied. "Okay, but what is she doing here?" Yogi asked and I shrugged. "I don't know." I replied. "I followed you, because I got curious where you were sneaking off to so late." Blythe told us. "Are you going to tell someone?" I asked and she shook her head. "No." Blythe replied. "Good." Ashia commented. "But what is going on?" Blythe asked. "All of our parents have been friends for years, and we like hanging out as well." Nanuk replied and Blythe nodded. "I should probably go." Blythe suggested. "You can stay, Blythe." Kissimi told her and Blythe smiled. She bit her lower lip as she thought about it. "Sure." Blythe agreed and Kissimi nodded. "Cool." Kissimi agreed and Nanuk eyed Blythe suspiciously.

Ujurak's POV:
     We all went back to doing what we were doing. Blythe walked up to me and Oka. "Were you swimming?" Blythe asked when she noticed my wet fur. "Yeah, Ujurak was teaching me." Oka replied as she smiled at me and I smiled back at her. "You're getting better." Ujurak commented. "Who is everyone here?" Blythe asked. "That's Nanuk, Suka, and Chulyin. They're my siblings, and that's Kissimi, a family friend. Then that's Ashia and Yogi, who are siblings." Ujurak introduced and Blythe nodded. "I'll see you later, Oka." Blythe commented and Oka nodded. Blythe asked and she nodded. Blythe walked over to Nanuk and Kissimi. I sighed as I shifted in my spot. The hard ground hurts my paws, I prefer ice and snow. That's what I'm use to, we only leave Star Island when we head to Great Bear Lake for the Longest Day. "Is everything okay?" Oka asked. "Yeah, I'm just not use to being on the hard ground so much." I replied. "I've never seen snow." Oka told me. "I'll love to show it to you someday." I commented and she nodded. "Someday." Oka agreed.

Nanuk's POV:
      Blythe walked over to me and Kissimi. "Hi." Blythe greeted. "Hi." Kissimi greeted. "I've never been around other bears up front, like this." Blythe commented. "We won't bite." Kissimi told her. They both laughed as I looked down. "What are you guys doing?" Blythe asked. "We were just racing, I won." Kissimi replied and I playfully nudged him. "The first time, I so had you that second time." I told him and he laughed. "You wish." Kissimi commented and I playfully rolled her eyes. "Wanna race me, Kissimi?" Blythe asked and he nodded. "Sure, but I'll win." Kissimi replied and she smiled. "We'll see." Blythe commented. They both began racing and I sighed as I sat down and watched them. Blythe is crushing on Kissimi, it's so obvious. But he appears to be oblivious, I don't think he see's it at all. Kissimi is my best friend, but I have these feelings for him. I don't know what to do. I don't want to lose my best friend, but I really love him. Suka and Ashia walked over to me and I looked up at them. "Are you okay, sis?" Suka asked and I nodded as I put on a fake smile. "Of course." I replied. "This Blythe bear will never be Kissimi's mate." Ashia told me as they sat down across from me. "Why? Because she's a brown bear?" I asked. "No." Ashia replied. "Because times are changing." I commented. "Because he has feelings for you." Suka told me and I looked up. "How do you know?" I asked. "Because it's so obvious." Suka replied.

Yogi's POV:
      I walked back into the cave and saw Chulyin. "This place is so cool." Chulyin commented and I smiled. "I'm glad we decided to explore some more." I told him and he nodded. "I've missed exploring. I've explored everywhere in Star Island." Chulyin told me. "And I've explored everywhere in my territory back home." I added. "I think we all have." Chulyin agreed. "Star Island must be nice. It's a lot bigger then my territory, and I'm guessing bigger then Oka's as well. Plus, you all live in the same territory. Together, which must be really nice. It's like.... One big family." I commented and he smiled. "It is nice. To have an entire island and all of those bears together. It must be great." I commented and he grinned. It really is  maybe you, Ashia, and Oka can visit sometime. When you're a full grown bear, of course." Chulyin suggested. "That would actually be really nice." I agreed.

Ashia's POV:
     Suka looked at his younger sister. "I know that you like him, Nanuk." Suka told her and she sighed as tears appeared in her eyes. "He's my best friend, Suka. If we do become more then that, then it could ruin everything." I told him. "Or.... It could make everything better." I told her and they both looked at me. "How do you know that?" Nanuk asked. "I don't, but you also don't know that it will ruin anything." I replied. "Look, sis. Do whatever makes you happy, and we'll all support you." Suka told her and she smiled. "Thank you." Nanuk commented and we both nodded. "Of course." Suka agreed. We both stood up and walked away. "You guys seem to be really close." I commented and smiled. "We are." Suka agreed. "So am I with my brother." I told him. "I would hate to be an only child, like Oka." Suka commented and I nodded. "Me too." I agreed.
