~From the Author~
I know and understand that some people may take offense to love stories in the time of war. Some people may view them as making something good out of a moment in history that was pure evil. Depending on how you see it, that is not a bad thing.
In my books, I aim to reach into the minds of my characters and how I believe they would react under the circumstances I have written. That is no different in a war story and almost makes it even better. I do not take the Second World War or any dark moment in history lightly as I love history. I have great respect for the true soldiers who fought and died to make the world at peace.
That being said, this book takes place during the Second World War under very realistic circumstances. The movie Dunkirk itself is very historically accurate. I am simply tweaking it and re-writing it to say 'what if this happened?' This book also specifically focuses on Tommy as it it more a Fanfiction about the character rather than making romance from a war.
But creating romance out of war isn't bad. It truly happened (although this story specifically did not). I believe that it is good to write about the possibilities of love and happiness in dark times of the past. It reminds us that love and happiness is possible in every moment, no matter how dark the tunes are.
That was basically my long way of saying, this is a Fanfiction that deals with war. There will be love in it. There will be sorrow and pain and despair. I do not intend or want to have anyone offended by anything I write in this story, so I am truly sorry if anything in this book offends you.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy the book.

Note:
I do use some English to French translation in this book. Doing that, I have used google translate as it is the most efficient way to get the sentences translated.
I know google translate has been known to have errors, so if I type something in French that you know for certain to be wrong, please comment and tell me the correct way to write out the sentence. If you are not very good with French, please don't comment something that you think is close to it. I want the French in this book to be as accurate as possible so I will only use the translations given to me by google translate and any readers I have that are fluent or almost fluent in French.
Thank you very much!
