I waited in the cabin until daybreak. The sunlight broke through the windows. I went to grab my bag at the other end of the room. I walked forward and the moment I touched the sunlight, I felt like I was on fire. I couldn't breathe, my skin was turning red, and welts were forming. I jumped down away from the light and the pain stopped. The welts diminished and I could breathe again. "Of course, stupid," I told myself. "Vampires burn in the sunlight." Then, I saw a note appear on the table with a ring attached to it. The note said, "Yeah, forgot to mention that. Put this on and you'll be safe. -Kyle" "You don't say?" I thought out loud. I listened to his note and put the ring on. I walked to the day of light. I looked at my hand with the ring on it and, after thinking it over, closed my eyes and stuck my hand straight out into the light. I opened my eyes and... nothing. Not one burn. I brought it back and looked it over more. Still nothing. I looked up at the light ray and walked slowly to it. I put my hand in again. Then my arm. Then my whole body. "Did this actually work?" I thought to myself. I walked around in the light to get a feel for the ring doing it's work. I opened the door and the sun blinded me. It seemed I was pretty far into the woods. "So no one would find me," I thought. I walked outside and felt the snow crunch under my feet. The thing was, I didn't feel it. It was like the snow wasn't cold. I was confused, then thought about when I was given my element. It rushed through me. I felt that. Then it stopped when I made the snowflake. I thought,"Maybe if your power hurts others, it won't hurt you." I started to walk towards what I thought was the exit of the woods. Towards someone who could tell me what to do. To find Kyle.
