Drift Wood

You have drifted

so far away

I miss our calls

to odd hours

of the night

I miss imagining

my life with you

its my fault

that were like drift wood

I pushed too hard

I wasn't thinking right

somethings never change

but I know someday

I will see you again

when you drift onto the shore

or maybe

if I swim in the waters again

I will find you

drifting

silently

waiting for the tides to pick you up

and throw you back

I miss you terribly

and I wish I had never lost you

but I know now

somethings must

drift away.
