Sleeping is an excuse for everything
I don't want to feel
I don't want to see
I don't understand these problems
I'm living in a dream
A dream that requires sleep
Just so I can ignore
The self-hatred the world has to offer
The next black man shot because he has more
Shades to his grey than you
The woman covering herself because she was
Raised with the mentality that this is a mans world
And by showing the slightest bit of skin
And being a victim to assault, she is to blame
Instead of raising the "men" of this world
That's women may dress as they please
Free from judgment or unwanted male attention
The society that builds children as sexual propaganda
The teen girl starving herself to fit the mold
Everyone told her she should be
The by afraid to be who he is
Because he is called a f—g in the men's bathroom
And a perv in the girls bathroom
A world of corruption
And no matter what you do
Someone will be unhappy
But you don't see
Because sleep is an excuse for everything
