Ch 9 Rescue Operation

The elevator pings and opens revealing Y/N and Asher. Adjacent to them waiting for the elevator was Team RWBY.

Y/N: Why were you all waiting so close to the elevator?

Ruby: Oh, so Ozpin already assigned us our mission. We were planning on telling you on the way down.

Asher: What kind of mission?

Yang: Grimm activity near a village.

Weiss: Apparently there is no huntsmen available. He mentioned that given our performance we can do the mission.

Y/N blinks a couple of times before looking at Ozpin. He decided to not say anything about it, but rather say their good byes to each other before getting their mission.

Asher: You weren't telling them something were you?

Ozpin: So it seems you are just as perceptive as your partner. Very well, you see the situation calls that they had to go to a separate mission.

Y/N: What possible situation could call for this?

He sighs before turning on a screen and revealing a recording from a drone. It zooms in closer to reveal an Atlas research building.

Ozpin: This location was recently attacked and not everyone made it out of the evacuation. To make matters worse a prototype is located there. Ironwood informed of it being the first synthetic entity able to generate aura.

Y/N: Okay, but there is definitely more to this if Atlas forces can't handle their own problems.

Ozpin: That's the thing because it is in Vale they technically have no jurisdiction. If the mission fails or the media catches news of this it would be a PR nightmare. The White Fang doing this attack complicates matters looking upon one of your member's history.

Asher: (thinks for a moment) Wait, the only person in our team that seems to be hiding something is Blake. I knew it!

Y/N: (whispers to himself) Wait for it.

Ozpin: Yes, though Blake was affiliated with the White Fang at one point. Given what must be done it will cause problems.

Y/N: You see Rogue. The only guess you did was either she was hiding something with that book or something else. Not to mention with the fish.

Asher: I was partly right, so I'm gonna take it.

Ozpin cleans his glasses with his cloth rubbing his eyes showing how he feels of the situation. He continues with the mission.

Ozpin: As I'm sure you two know that reality is often grey and it isn't as black and white as people want it to be. Your team will need to eliminate all of the White Fang members occupying the building.

Asher: Basically you think they can not handle it due to the morality of it, and given our experience we will be able to handle it.

Ozpin: In simple terms yes. I know this is a lot to ask given your history with Team RWBY but-

Y/N: We understand sir. The mission will be done.

Asher: Besides there is captives that needs saving and a prototype I want to see.

Ozpin: Regarding the prototype it needs to be activated and a local team will be standing by to secure it. Once you clear the building make the call for them to sweep in. The information needed will be found on your scrolls.

Y/N: I will keep this in stride, but don't expect me to lie to Ruby if it comes to it. That's the last thing I would want to do to her especially just for a cover up. A team can turn on itself if there isn't trust between the members.
