The wind was particulary forceful today, I clutched my suitcase, my knees making it bounce up and down as I was lead down the dusty road, by a women I was yet to know properly. Well I say that, I knew her once, apparently. I don't remember her purely because I was too young. I was told I only met her a couple of times though anyway. She was a family friend, according to the will and she was legally obliged to take over, if anything were to happen, which in my case it did. Not a special case, mother had a heart attack, that's all, nothing special. Death isn't special. Thats the whole point, people die everyday, death's not supposed to be a special thing. My eyes wandered along the dusty road, not looking up, just following her feet so I knew when to stop and where to go. A few minutes later she came to a hault and a few seconds after, my brain registered the fact I had to stop, causing me to almost collide with her. I managed to find my footing before looking up at her. "Welcome to my freakshow" She said, her lips curling each side, to create a smile, her arms up in the air as if to create more of an affect. Her arms dropped to her side "follow me." she said her accent bouncing off her lips and into my brain. I knew it from somewhere, I just had to find where.

I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I hadn't noticed she'd started walking. A few minutes later I felt a tug at my arm. I looked up to see her face looking puzzled and frustrated because I hadn't walked. "Sorry" I muttered before walking in the direction she was walking in. Big red and white circus tents filled the large area of field that they had settled in. The white was slightly yellow most likely from the age of the tents, to put it simply, they were knackered. I looked up and saw an open tent, more of a marqueet, there were many people sitting there and as my feet dragged along the dust, their eyes diverted to me. I was the newbie, they probably thought of me as an intruder.

As their eyes landed on me, mine landed on the floor, suddenly finding it very comforting. I didn't want to look them in the eye, I think I may have been scared or nervous or scared. I don't know, they feel the same to me. "Who's this?" A male voice spoke up, but he wasn't from around here, he had the same accent as me, he was British. I looked up, hearing a native accent. My eyes wandered, the people here were mixed, they had deformaties, but that didn't matter to me. I didn't even think about it. "Well who is she Elsa?" the voice asked again, all I could do was look at them in anxiousness. I chewed on the inside of my mouth, looking around. I was fascinated, not with the people who sat infront of me, but with the things around me. The tents, the lights, the caravans, the rides. Everything. I was snapped out of my thoughts, by Elsa, "This is Marley, her parents and I were friends, way back when I first came to America." I gave a small smile, not wanting to come off as snobby. "She will be staying with us for aslong as she likes." Elsa said informing the rest of the bunch. "Thank you" I mumbled to her, hoping no one else heard. "Ah so you're from England" the English man asked, well stated. I nodded my head, turning it as Elsa walked off. What was she doing? Why did she leave me alone? I pulled my case towards my knees, trying to comfort myself, truth is, I was scared shitless, I mean you would be, if you had just arrived and the only person you knew(infact I didn't really know her), had walked off and left you with a group of strangers.

"Don't you talk?" The british man asked me, all I did was shrug. "I guess she doesn't" He said tucking back into, whatever he was eating. All eyes were now on me, except his, obviously. My eyes wandered down for a minute and when I brought them back up, their eyes were still on me. I gave them a small smile, I was probably coming across as very shy right now. I didn't know what I was doing, I just shuffled from foot to foot until one of them got up. "I'm Jimmy, Jimmy Darling." The young man said to me, he had dark brown hair to match his dark brown eyes, he held out his hand which had four conjoined fingers, two and two, my hand hesitated before letting go of the case and shaking Jimmy's. He was quite a bit taller than me, so I had to tilt my head, slightly, to look at him. He smiled a goofy grin, showing his pearly white teeth off to me, then he winked at me. Why would he wink at me? I guess he was just trying to be nice. I shrugged the wink off, as we both dropped eachothers hands. I clutched back onto my case, where as Jimmy wrapped his arm around me. My body froze and i'm pretty sure I looked uncomfortable. "Come on doll, nothing to be afraid of. We don't bite. Well maybe he does" He pointed to a small boy, wearing a blue fluffy jacket. I held in a laugh, instead my lips curled into a small smile.

"Theres a smile." He grinned down at me, and unlooped his arm from my shoulder. "So when am I gonna give you the big tour?" He asked, god the boy was like a chesire cat, always grinning. "I don't know." I mumbled. "How about now?" He asked, looking at me with a raised eyebrow. I nodded smiling at him. "Come on then."...
