i've had this happen with a straight person, i came out to them and then explained what demisexual is and they were like 'oh so everyone is demisexual then!' and i was like '...........no.'
i feel like i need to explain this now
here we go
demisexual is when you do not feel sexual attraction towards someone until you have formed a strong emotional bond with them. now, most people probably would not have sex with a stranger- but that doesn't mean they don't feel sexual attraction towards people they do not know. for example, they can feel that type of attraction towards celebrities that they have never met before. i cannot.
so yeah. others may choose not to act on said attraction, but they still experience it. demisexuals just don't feel that at all until they are closer to someone. thank you for listening.
brief story time:
once i commented about being demisexual on some instagram post about being asexual and other people who also were demi replied and then someone made a group chat with everyone who commented and we talked about how weird it is that people can genuinely want to fuck people they don't know and it was great
