If Only

Chapter 3

As they reached the front door, Liam looked at Miles and gestures for him to unlock the door. Miles rolled his eyes and unlocked the door before stepping in and heading straight for his room. "Ignore him," Liam says over his shoulder as he leads me to the front room.

A few moments later Liam walks in holding two mugs and hands one to Codi, she reaches out to take it following with a small "thank you," an innocent smile on her face. Liam looked down and responded with "you're welcome,".

They spent most of the night chatting away, but it got cut short when Codi fell asleep on the sofa. Liam carefully placed a thick blanket over her petite figure and headed off to his own room for the night.

At some point in the night, Miles woke up to get a drink. He threw himself out of bed in just his boxers, the thought of their guest completely slipping his mind.

He stumbled into the kitchen and grabbed a glass from the cupboard along with the orange juice from the fridge. Miles walked back through the front room to retreat back to his own room, when the small girl sleeping on the sofa caught his eye.

He walked over to her and admired her graceful features; the porcelain skin, delicate eyelashes and her soft, pink lips. Crouching down to further admire her beauty, he tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, causing her blue eyes to flutter open. This caused him to stumble back as she sat up and looked at him cautiously.

"What were you doing?" She hummed. "Nothing, I promise," he retorted, Codi got up and walked over to him not realising that the baggy shirt she had been given to sleep in, was in fact Miles'. "Is that my shirt?" He questioned, causing her to look down and back up at him and saying "I don't know, Liam said I could borrow it to sleep in," tugging at the bottom, feeling slightly self-conscious. He chuckled, "it's fine I don't mind. Besides, it looks better on you anyway," Miles shrugged as he began walking away. "I have a question," she blurted out in which made Miles turn around and raise a brow, "well it's just that you ignored me all day and now you appear to be being nice to me, what's that all about?" She asked, taking a step closer to him. "Well, it's just that you remind me of her. Kacey, I mean. Only looks wise, if I'm being honest, your personality is so much different, you seem much more caring and relaxed. You seem to put other people's feelings above your own," his response made Codi silent as she tried to process what she had just heard.

Soon, Miles and Codi had passed their night by just talking and getting to know each other. Once again Codi was yawning which made Miles decide to look at the clock, seeing that it read '6:32am' he jumped up and yelled "I need to get ready," making Codi jump. "Ready for what?" She asked, standing up although the height difference was quite shocking as he was definitely over 6ft and she stood at 5ft 1in. He looked down at her and said "work," before walking away to the bathroom to get himself ready for work.

And she's done it again, posted another chapter because why the hell not. It's not like anyone reads this shit but it'll be fun to write. As usual don't forget to vote and if anyone is actually reading this, see you in the next chapter!! Bye
