If it is good or malicious the act and character of revelation is always the same. It starts with a sensation begotten by the realization that you were blinded and that you can now see. The your keyhole had given way to the expansion of the door. One of the first steps of revelation starts when you become aware that you are currently in one. To know that you will be ripped out of your perception and way of life to be chained to another reality. But often times it is not new knowledge that causes the revelation but the realization of suck knowledge that is the alter.
