Chapter 25 - Don't Run

MacKenzie's POV

"The satellite's pinging Caitlin's latent cryokinetic signature." Iris says, standing up with the tablet.

"Where is she?" Cisco asks

"East wing of St. Alexander Hospital." Iris says. "That place has been closed for years."

"We'll breach over. You got your suit?" Cisco asks Ralph

"Never leave home without it." Ralph says

"Come on, Mack." Cisco says

The three of us run out of the cortex.

I grab my jacket on the way and throw my hair up in a ponytail. I pull my mask out that goes around my eyes and put it on.

Ralph stretches in front of Caitlin and a man, protecting them from getting stabbed

"So pointy! That is not very nice, lady." Ralph says

I blast the woman back and she slams against the wall

"Are you a time traveler?" Cisco asks, wlaking towards her. "'Cause those white girl dreads came straight from the '90s."

"Yeah, what he said." Ralph says. "Although, if you wanna give me your phone number, we could Netflix and chill, or--"

"Hey!" Cisco scolds, pointing over to me. "Stop talking."

I run over to Caitlin and she hugs me

Cisco opens a breach

WE jump through, Cisco after us.

Then Ralph jumps through

Iris is sitting in the cortex, looking at the computers

I'm walking around the cortex

Iris said we would go get food as soon as she finished up, but I think she kinda zoned out

But I'm not gonna say anything

So I'm just waiting

I spin around a few times before hearing a whoosh

Iris jumps up

"Barry!" She runs and hugs him

I run over too, hugging him

He holds us tight

"There's no sign of DeVoe." Iris says the next day.

"The house is empty." Joe says, "Facial recognition's not picking up him or his wife."

"So, what? He just drowned?" Caitlin asks

"Or went back to wherever he was holding Barry." Harry says

"Why do you think he took you?" Joe asks

"I'm not sure." Barry says. "But I think that he's interested in my powers."

"Great." Cisco says. "We got evil Mary Poppins collecting metas, too."

"Yeah, and Amunet won't back down." Caitlin says

"Nothing like a lingering threat to put us all in the Christmas spirit." Harry says

"Speaking of which, with all this DeVoe stuff and Cecile being out of town, I didn't have a chance to decorate the house." Joe says. "If you guys still wanna do Christmas...."

"Yeah, of course." Barry says. "We have a lot to celebrate...including Mack's birthday."
