A/n: I'm sorry I was dumb enough to accidentally delete your ask, I hope I remembered your username correctly and I'm sorry this took so long to make and that the ending is a bit eh. I don't know much about Teddy as I'm not really into the next gen so I did some research for this. Hope you still enjoy though!

Edward Remus Lupin was 2 years old when a woman he hadn't seen before showed up at his grandmother Andromeda's house with a baby. What he didn't know at the time was that the woman had been one of his mother's close friends while they were at Hogwarts together. When the war broke out again she'd moved to America with her husband, how could lousy shop owners help defeat the dark lord himself? The woman had been hoping to catch up with Tonks, ask about her new job, if she had a partner, show her new born child to her. So, she came to Andromeda to seek out Nymphadora Tonks' location.

Teddy felt bored when the two adults went outside to talk, leaving the sleeping baby in what used to be Teddy's crib a year ago. He brought a little stool to the window and stood on it to try and see what was going on outside, but even then the little boy had to get on his tippy toes.

What he saw broke his little heart break in two, his grandmother in their back yard weeping into a handkerchief while the woman next to her sat in a silent shock. That sadness he felt was soon replaced by dread when the silence within the house was replaced by the wail of the now-awake infant.

He ran over to the baby, thinking he'd get told off if he went to get his grandmother, they were conversing and maybe it was him that caused the baby to cry. "Shh, go back to sleep" he tried to coo "Mrs baby is talking to grandmother and they look really sad. Please don't cry. It will upset them more!" When the baby suddenly stopped crying, Teddy thought he was a baby whisperer.

What he didn't know was that in his sheer panic, his hair had started to change it's color in a way similar to a disco ball and that fascinated the baby far more than the need for her bottle at the moment. She reached up her hands in an attempt to touch his fascinatingly colorful hair but Teddy took this as a sign the she wanted to play and instead took her tiny hands in his almost as small ones, swaying then from side to side like a little hand dance. He was very content with how great he was with babies.

(y/n)'s mom started coming over once a week to catch up with Andromeda. Teddy did not complain, the now 2 year old was rather similar to him, they both enjoyed playing tag and mixing random things they found in his grandmother's fridge to make "potions". Teddy also enjoyed the fact that he was older and therefore smarter, being able to impress his friend with little facts he learned from his grandmother.

Teddy Lupin was 6 years old when he found out that he had been named after his grandfather, Ted Tonks, and was in shock to find out that he wasn't nicknamed Ted but rather Eddie. The next week, him and his best friend presented a case to Andromeda Tonks and Harry Potter called "why Edward should be referred to as 'Teddy'". They talked about how his grandfather was nicknamed Ted and Teddy was like a child version of Ted along with about 39 different points to aid their case.

When it came time for Teddy to start Hogwarts, he cried on platform 9 and ¾ about how much he will miss not only his grandmother and Godfather, but the weekly visits from (y/n) too. His God siblings hugged him, telling him about how much they'd miss him while Andromeda reassured Teddy that he will see them all during the holidays. His grandmother had also brought up the idea that she'll talk to (y/n)'s mother and see if she could sleep over for a night or two during the Christmas Holidays.
