The forest was afraid. Everything was afraid of her. Even she was afraid of herself. The small silverwing that had barely been born a week ago panted as she flew desperately, trying to ignore the furious screeches and hoots behind her, or the owls laughing at her fear. She whimpered in fear as she flew faster, crying to herself.

She looked around, and her eyes widened in horror as she saw it. Fire. She had to fly faster than ever now! With a small growl of determination, the little bat flew faster, seeing a small crevice in a cliff wall. With a small screech of happiness, she flew inside, landing far from her chaser's clutches.

She panted, and smiled in relief. "That was close...". Before she could celebrate, the small cave began to shake, rocks tumbling down. The small bat gasped in horror, but stopped as she saw a rock tumble towards her. She slowly closed her eyes, accepting her fate.

With a flash of pain, she felt herself lose some of her energy, but also her memories, with one last memory of who she was slowly fading. They were two bats, a male and female, who looked like her. They smiled at her, but faded to dust, making her whole memories vanish forever...
