Wow, it's the penultimate episode!? Can't believe we only have one left.
Almost every scene with Ka'kwet made me cry! I can't believe they actually took her back to that awful place after she'd just escaped it (I mean I can believe it, but it's devastating). Her parents are amazing, my heart breaks for her whole family, and especially knowing stuff like this happened in real life not too long ago. The part where Oqwatnuk was asking Marilla to help them, and showing her how she has her daughter with her, but she is separated from hers was so beautiful and sad and emotional, her acting was amazing. And when Aluk got shot, that was horrible! It was also really sad to see how Ka'kwet was still traumatised even after she was at home, that those people had made her feel worthless, and it caused her to lash out at the other little boy. I really really hope they find a way to get her out of there in the finale, and that those horrible people get punished for what they did to her and all the other children. I don't know how they're gonna do it though, like maybe they could get Rachel to see what's going on and threaten to gossip about them again? Or Anne writing another article will spark another protest? Maybe they just need to rally more people.
Matthew was great! I love how his character sort of developed and become more brave, like he's usually quiet and shy, but when he could see a terrible injustice happening to this family he was ready to step out of his comfort zone to help them. I was so scared when the men with guns pushed him, but I kind of think (and hope) he won't die this season after all. There's just so many other storylines that need wrapping up, I think they'll save it for season 4 (if there is one).
And I love how supportive Matthew and Marilla are of her and Gilbert! Marilla saying "don't make the same mistakes I did" and Matthew being shocked for a second and then like "right," and helping her get her horse ready super quickly, it was awesome.
Gilbert being reminded of Anne everywhere he goes and going to all her special places on the island? And remembering dancing with Anne after hearing like one note of that song, so we got a shot of that scene we hadn't seen before, even though he also danced to that with Winifred?? And him keeping the shell he found at her story club ruins (which she kissed years before)?! And standing on the edge of the cliff in the sunset, looking out at the horizon beautifully?!! BIG YES. I really think he went to Winifred's door to break up with her and not to propose, like I know he's been stupid this season, but he's not THAT stupid, right? His facial expression then and everything he's been doing in this episode seems like it's leading up to Anne and him not marrying Winifred, I think the writers are just trying to scare us.
I felt so bad for Anne, like she keeps getting her hopes up and then just missing him. And are we gonna ignore the fact that SHE BROUGHT HIM FLOWERS?! And she said he was a part of a her family, (like as in one day they will have a family with 7 kids lol). And SHE WROTE HIM A LOVE LETTER BUT WAS ACTUALLY SENSIBLE IN THE END, GOING TO TALK TO HIM IN PERSON AND NOT HAVE ANY MORE MISUNDERSTANDINGS!
That part with the note was so damn stressful! And the fact that he'll never get to read it is so sad, it was so sweet and Anne-like, saying "I love you" and then asking for her pen back, lol.
The part about Bash's father was so sad! I assume the tension between him and Hazel will be resolved in the finale.
Also Gilbert sneaking around trying to get his food and go to his room to avoid a family argument is a mood.
I missed Jerry, Ruby, Josie, Tillie, Jane, Prissy and Charlie! Hopefully they'll be in the finale.
Billy, feel free to accidentally get killed by the men with guns anytime.
Diana was a mood too, being so upset about the shirbert situation, and the part where she thought Marilla was crying because of Gilbert proposing to Winifred was so funny. I hope she stands up to her parents in the next episode and doesn't have to go to Paris!
"You said never to do anything improper." Lol, still love you Minnie May, even though you snitched on Diana! It was annoying, but I understand this is a situation where she gets to be her mother's "favourite" for once, so it makes sense she took advantage of it. Also when Gilbert walks in and she's just like "dance with us!" Idk why I found that so funny too.
I hope Derry is revived in episode 10! Or at least for Diana to apologize, and Jerry to realise he wasn't "not good enough for" her.
I feel like the pen still may have some significance, like Gilbert using it as an excuse to see Anne or something. I feel like Amybeth wouldn't joke about it so much if it wasn't relevant.
We only got see Cole twice this season! :( I also hope he'll be in the finale.
Anne telling Matthew about the indigenous name they gave her that meant "brave heart", and then Diana telling her she has a brave heart later was also beautiful.
I like Ms Stacey and Bash's friendship! I get that there's the implication it will turn into more, but I want it to stay this way for now, although I can see they would be a good family one day.
I still want a boat scene, but doubt it will happen.
So many things to happen in the finale, I can't wait but I also don't want it to be over! I really really hope it gets renewed for a 4th season, it's literally my favorite show and it's so so good.
