I sit straight up, my heart skipping beats and adrenaline coursing through my veins. The noise sounded like a deep, unfamiliar voice.

I quietly climb out of bed and run barefooted to the dining room, where there's a bigger window for me to check what's going on. Just as I pushed the curtains aside, I see a figure run past the window and suddenly it's gone.

I immediately feel exposed when I look down at what I'm wearing. Black lace underwear and a loose fitted shirt, minus the bra. Whoever was outside my window saw me with hardly any clothes on, and the thought made my stomach queasy.

I walked back to bed with vivid memories of the shape of the figure. I couldn't fall back to sleep.

I nearly fell over in class the next day from lack of sleep. I somehow managed to make it through without punching anyone in the face, so that's a plus.

After school, Clara drove me over to the dress shop and I both apologized for making her take the trip yesterday and informed her that the same person will be picking me up today.

"So who's been picking you up?" Clara asked on the way there, cocking an eyebrow up. She had a curious smile on her face.

"Don't worry, it's no one like that. Just a family friend. He offered to pick me up because he's back in town this week." I felt terrible for lying to my best friend but amazed at how good I was getting at it.

We arrived at the shop and Clara dropped me out front of the plaza. "See you tomorrow, Saige."

I rush up to the glass doors, my dress bouncing rhythmically in the wind. When I grab the handle, I feel another force from the other side of the door push it towards me.

"Afternoon, m'lady."

I look up and met eyes that match the leaves outside and belonged to the most handsome boy in town.

"Hey, I don't get off for another four hours, what are you doing here?" I smiled up at him.

"Do you have to work? Like, really."

"Yes, like really. Girls hardly get jobs in this town, let alone girls my age. I can't just-"

"Just one more day, I won't ask anymore."

I crossed my arms and huffed. "Harry."

"Promise," he smiled cheekily.

I thought for a few seconds. If I just tell my boss I was sick, I'm sure I'll be fine. "Okay."

His smile, if it was even possible, got bigger and more radiant. "I like that dress on you, by the way."

"Are you sure 'on' is the word you were looking for?" I giggled.

"Saige, you just got even hotter. I'm seriously fighting the urge to just fuck you right here."

"Harry!" I look around to make sure no one heard him.

He took my hand and lead me to his convertible. Stopping right in his tracks and spinning around on his heels, he asked, "my place?"

I shake my head yes.
