Amelia's POV

"Momma, where we going?" Adrian asked as she sat her head up to look around.

"We're at Kevin's house. Do you wanna ring the doorbell?" I asked as I put her down and held her hand.

"Yeah!" She yelled excitedly.
She pulled me to the door and rang the doorbell.

A few moments later, Kevin opened the door.

I smiled and he smiled back, but it was something about his smile. It seemed kind of.....off.

"Hey Kevin!" Adrian yelled.

He looked down and picked her up.

"Hey love. What's your name." He asked her as we walked inside.

"Adrian." She smiled.

"Hey Adrian. Nice to meet you." He told her.
She laughed and then laid her head on his shoulder.

"Jus to let you know, she's about to fall asleep." I told Kevin as we entered the living room.

"That fast?" He asked as he sat in the couch.
I nodded with a light chuckle.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she's asleep right now."
I looked at her, and sure enough, she was.

I picked her up and laid her on the couch beside me.

"So, how've you been?" I asked Kevin.
His face fell and immediately he looked away from me.

"Good, everything's good."

"You're lying."

He exhaled deeply and stood up.

He started to walk into the kitchen but he stopped.

"She left me." He told me.
I had opened my mouth to talk more, but he started talking again.

"She told me that she felt like I was abandoning her and I told her that I was feeling mad all the time and that's why I wasn't paying her attention. I didn't want to hurt her." He paused and then started pacing again.

"She told me she understood and then we both went to sleep. Then, I told her I wasn't feeling good. I was fine physically but mentally, I wanted to end it all. So she told me that I felt hot and she went to get a thermometer. Then I heard her talking to someone and she was getting into a car with a guy I saw her hanging out with yesterday."
He came back beside me and sat down.

"She looked so happy and I was upset that I've been feeling so bad that I couldn't make her feel like that. All I want is to make her happy. I finally found the one I want to spend the rest of my life with, but she left me. She left me when I needed her the most. I would've drank for the first time in six months if you hadn't come over." He said lowly.

"I would've killed myself if you hadn't come over."
My eyes widened and I pulled him to me and hugged him.

It took no time for him to begin sobbing and I felt horrible.

He had stood up and turned to me. His face was red and his eyes were baggy. He just looked defeated.

"I gotta go. I'm sorry for everything. I........I love you okay?" He chocked. He started to walk away and then he broke out into a sprint up the stairs.

My eyes widened as I chased after.

"Kevin!" I yelled, but he kept running until he reached the bathroom.

Please don't lock the door, please don't lock it.

When I got to the door, I turned the knob; but it was locked.
