Your phone vibrated off the table, alerting you to wake up.

You could hear rain patter outside, indicating a stormy day ahead.

You began your daily morning routine, this time throwing on a thick black jacket with navy leggings and black converse. You said goodbye and headed down the street to Starburst.

You walked in to find a familiar face.

"Hello Y/N." he said.

"Hi Togami." you replied.

"Why are you here so early?" Byakuya inquired.

"I could ask the same about you."

"I always come to get a morning coffee."

"Shouldn't your butler or whatever make one for you?"

"I believe this place's coffee to be.. better."

You stayed quiet and ordered. This time the barista was a blue haired girl named Tsumugi. You ordered a peppermint white chocolate mocha.

You received your drink. "Togami?"

He looked up from his laptop. "Yes?"

"I-uh, need.. help with yesterday's homework." you mumbled.

"Speak up."

"I need help with yesterday's homework." you repeated, almost aggressive in your tone. You hated being told to speak up.

"Okay. Come over here."

You reluctantly dragged a chair beside Byakuya.

"What do you not understand." he said coldly.

You were almost afraid to tell him, he came off so... professional and cold. Unable to feel. Then again, that was expected of him. Although maybe, you could unlock a softer side of him.

What were you thinking? Why this sudden interest in him? Because he offered to help? You're that clingy y/n? Jeez.

"Y/N! Y/N! HELLO??" Byakuya snapped in front of your face.

"I-uh, oh geez, sorry." you apologized. You had gotten caught up in your thoughts. You pointed out what you didn't understand, and he helped accordingly.

After finishing and stuffing the homework in your backpack, you started a conversation about what kind of coffee is the best and what's happened at school lately, it's just like your old school.

"Why did you move away?" you asked.

"That is not of importance at the moment. It's really nothing important in the first place, school just got boring so I requested to be moved."

You nodded, even if you didn't get the reason of just being bored. You couldn't have waited a year to finish middle school?

"Y/N, would you like to walk with me?" Byakuya asked.

"Huh? Why?" you replied. He didn't even do this back in middle school.

"It's cold outside and raining. It also appears as if you forgot an umbrella." he said.

"Well, it wasn't raining near this hard when I left."

"I could call a limo if it is a problem." he said.

wow, he really cares enough about me for me to not get soaked and get hypothermia and probably die? never mind, just being very overdramatic. in both cases. he's just being polite.

"I-uh, whatever's more convenient for you I guess." you replied.

He nodded and pressed a button on his phone. In a few minutes, a long black limo pulled up to the coffee shop.

Your eyes widened. "Why are you doing this?" you asked a second time.

"Just get in." Byakuya pushed you into the limo. He had an umbrella over you the entire three steps to the limo to ensure you wouldn't get his precious limo wet.

You sat beside each other on opposite ends of a couch, watching tv.

After a few minutes, you piped up. "Thanks for helping with the homework." you said.

"Welcome." he replied.

As you got out of the limo, you slipped on a puddle and ripped a hole through your leggings, scraping your knee pretty badly.

"Y/N, do you require medical assistance?" Byakuya asked.

You nodded. He helped you up and propped you up onto his shoulder so you didn't put so much pressure on your knee. You blushed red the entire way to the infirmary.

Byakuya set you in a padded chair and propped your leg up while looking for a band aid. He grabbed a blue bandaid and after cleaning the scrape, placed it gently onto the scrape.

"Blue's my favorite color. Lucky guess?" you chuckled.

"No actually, I remember back in school you would always have something blue on you. Clips, backpack, crayon, whatever. It was always there."

You blushed. "You really remember that?" you said.

Byakuya nodded.

You two sat in the infirmary for a while, just listening to the rain sounds until you both decided to return to class. He wrote you a fake pass and handed it to you.

"What about you?" you asked.

"I will be fine." Byakuya responded.

"For the 30th time, thanks for dealing with me today. I know I can be really annoying at times." you felt your stomach drop towards the end of that sentence.

"Please do not call yourself annoying." Byakuya said.

You shook your head.

"Come to the pizza parlor after school."

"You willingly want to go eat peasant food?" you joked around.

That got a small smile out of him.
