SHE STEPS out of a the taxi, the young blonde look up at the tall apartment complex. A smile grew across her face.

Her keys twist inside of the door knob. Opening to door with her hand on the knob, she sees Corey and Joshua talking next to each other on the couch, Olivia and a couple others around the dining table and standing. "Finally, little bitch took you forever," Corey says from the couch.

"Oh, hey." Joshua says springing up from the couch. He walks over to the group of people partially unfamiliar. She follows him over to them. "This is Larry, Sofia, Matt, and Julia. And you've met Olivia."

"I'm Riley," Her right hand slightly waves to them. "Which you probably already knew." She shoves her hand back down.

"Yeah, we've heard a lot about you," Sofia goofily smiles.

"Right," the blonde says awkwardly. "Well, you've all met Corey," She says looking next to her seeing the scrawny boy fill the space.

CHEERS AND CHATTER from everyone else is muffled with the brunette boy and the a blonde sit on the girls bed in her room with the door shut. The two were left laughing from some stupid joke he made just the second before. "Anyways, I have a question?" He looks into her eyes deeply. His lips pull into a sweet smile.

"Shoot," She smiles back.

"When did you know, you might like— like girls too?" He asks, "I am so sorry if you don't want to answer that's fine," He says watching her face drown from a smile.

"No it's fine. I guess— well, three or so years ago I was talking to this guy. Just as friends, getting to know each other." She sighs pausing. "And he brought up his crush on this girl in our grade. She was really pretty." A nostalgic smile formed on her lost in her words. "She had beautiful brown hair and hazel eyes. Little did I know, that, that girl was my crush. Took me about three months until I realized me adoring from afar and deeply wanting to be close to her wasn't just because I wanted to be her friend." She smiles looking back at the boy.

His eyes were soft, and his smile was small. Through his eyes in that moment, he knew that she's beautiful.

A tear gently rolls down her cheeks. Her words were still of the beautiful girl who was once i. her class. "damn it," she whispers wiping the tears from her face. "Joshua fucking Bassett," she laughs slightly.

"What," he looks at her doe-eyed.

"You're doing something to me." she laughs sniffling.

"I'm not," He moves closer to her. "Maybe, you were just done keeping it all inside." His hands fidget in his lap as he looks over to his right seems her looking back at him.

"I guess sometimes, if I smile, then everything would be alright." Slowly tears start to come again. "But it's not alright."

"Come here," Joshua says leaning in and wrapping his arms around her. Her face in the crook of his neck feeling comfort.

"I'm so sorry." Riley smiles onto his shoulder.

"You should be," he jokes. "I'm kidding," He says instantly afterwards. He could feel her laughing.

A sudden burst of glass breaking followed my some curing but mostly panicked responses. The two pull apart and Riley wipes her cheeks, but tear stains are left behind. "I guess that our— uhh— signal." The blonde stand up.

AFTER that chaos of the broken glass and an intense game of stacked uno, the company decides to head out. Hugs are pasted around and goodbyes. Riley hugged everyone, but one. Deep down inside she's dreading to even thing this moment came. "Goodbye Riley." He smiles hugging her trying his best to savor the feel as much as he could.

"bye."

THE APARTMENT wasn't a complete mess, empty with clutter everywhere. The two roommates however, and sprawled on the couch. "You like Joshua, right?"

"What do you even mean, no we just met this week."

"I'm just saying, the way you look at him, you've never looked at Reed that way." Corey says smiling at his best friend. "Well then again, I forgot to take my anxiety meds." He pushes up from the couch. "Early morning tomorrow, you can take care of this one." He says.

"Hell no," She laughs while he admits to defeat and picks up a plate from the floor.
