His love was once one of soft candles
Faint and warm
But not always visible.
Her mind was a garden;
Growing
Lilies and snapdragons
Yet still some dandelions and earth worms remained.
Hois candles burnt low
As his blood alcohol ran high
His last stumbles into her garden
His booze drien absence
He failed to see
The dandelions had finally drained her lilies.
Her snapdragons stood as husks
He stumbled into her garden
But his intoxication
Proved too much
h e fell,
His booze and candles did, too.
It took no time for the booze
And dried fauna
Burned high
It was a fire so hot
Even the earth worms
Dug deeper
The same fire
With which he once called her his sunshine
Became her final blow.
