*4*loosing everything

As soon as the Huntington wolves were headed to the house I linked the border wolves to notify me as soon as they left our territory then shifted and ran to find Lyda.

Alpha Draz both you and Luna Freda need to come to the forest. One of the rogues was Lyda's mate but Alpha Stewart attacked and killed him not knowing that. She voided the alliance and banned them all from the property and took off. I'm going to look for her now. I cut the the mind link and sped up trying to find Lyda's scent.

Her parents met up with me a few minutes later and we split up to search faster. After what seemed like hours but actually was just ten minutes I found her in human form curled up in a ball cheeks soaked with a blank look in her eyes. I linked her parents to meet us at the house.

I ran inside as I linked the pack doctor. Just as I was laying her on her bed her parents barged in and pushed me to the side.

"Oh goddess Draz. She's drawn into herself. She's lost to us now." she broke down crying.

"Shh hunny, she will pull through this. She's strong and can endure anything." he placed his hand on her shoulder while holding Lyda's hand.

The doctor ran in and froze as she saw Lyda.

"Alpha! What happened?" Tilly whispered then came back to herself.

"She saw her mate get killed." I mumbled as I starred at Lyda's lifeless body.

"This isn't good. Wolves usually die or go insane days sometimes hours after losing a mate. An alpha has a deeper connection than most so there reactions are extreme. I just hope since they just met and the bond didn't have time to really form that her reaction will not be severe." she was examining her seemingly lifeless alpha with a grim expression.

After several minutes she pulled back and glanced at me. "You and Syvie are her best friends she will need you both right now." she smiled sadly as she grabbed my hand and sat me down next to Lyda. "Gavin and Lyda have a unique bond also so hopefully with everyone helping and showing support she can snap out of this very soon."

"Hey there sweety. We really need you to come back. You are needed in the pack. Besides who else can put up with me. Your dad might just run me off without you here to protect me." I tried laughing at my joke but I just stroked her cheek and laid down next to her.

"It hurts Kalen. So much." she whispered as I pulled her into my arms and rubbed her back soothingly.

"I know it does Mo, I know." I reverted to our childhood nicknames hoping it would bring a smile.

Us three were known as the three stooges due to our pranks and need to get in trouble. Lyda as Mo, Syvie as Larry and I am Curly.

"Curly I don't think I can make it without him. I can't be an alpha with half of me gone." she cried quietly.

"Hunny don't worry about being an alpha right now. Your mom and I will temporary take over again until you feel you can handle it." her dad moved her hair away from her face and kissed her forehead.

"What if I can't handle it daddy. What if I loose my mind. The pack will need a strong alpha." she was worrying about the pack as usual instead of herself.

that's good beta Kalen if she's talking and worrying about the pack then she still has hope of coming back. Dr Tilly looked at me then alpha Draz.

"She is doing better than I imagined Alpha. Just keep talking to her and bring Syvie right away. She could help speed the recovery process." Tilly stepped back readying to leave.

"Doctor what if Syv can't be here?" I quietly asked.

"Why not?" she asked confused.

"She found her mate right before the attack. Alpha Stewart from Huntington pack. He is the one that killed Lyda's mate." I looked back at Lyda and kissed her cheek.

"Oh my. Did she.....Is Syvie banished?" Tilly had her hand over her mouth and she turned deathly pale.

"No Tilly she wasn't banned but the alliance with Huntington is severed and they are not allowed back on our land." Alpha Draz told her.

"But Syvie is in the Huntington pack now." she whispered.

"If I know Syv once she finds out what happened she will refuse to join the pack until she knows Lyda will pull through this." I half smiled then pulled Lyda tighter to me and laid back and quietly rambled on about different pranks and things we had done as kids.
Lyda closed her eyes and just listened until she fell asleep.

Kalen! why won't anyone tell me anything? what is going on? Syvie sounded hysterical.

Has your mate told you why you had to leave so abruptly?

The only thing he has said is we will talk when we reach home.

How far away are you?

They said a few more minutes.

Lyda shifted a little in her sleep. She looked so peaceful in her sleep. I really hope she will pull this. We all need her to be okay, not just the pack but her family too. We may not be blood related but she is my sister and I love her dearly. It kills me to see her in pain and that I can't help her in any way.

Life is so precious you can't take anything for granted. When I find my mate I will make sure she knows how much I love and adore her every day. She will be treated with respect and praised like a queen. My devotion to her will show not only through my words but through my actions as well. She will know she is cherished and loved till the day I die.

I wish Lyda had felt all those things. She deserves to be loved and cherished from her mate. Not having her other half will undoubtedly change her and I am hoping that she will let me and her family help her through everything. All we can do know is just show our love and support and pray she accepts our help and comes back to us with some sanity left.

Gavin rushed in with tears streaming down his cheeks holding his chest. "Why does it hurt?" his mom pulled in into a hug, "Hunny, Lyda found her mate during the attack but he was killed in the all the chaos." Gavin ran over and shook lyda. " I'm so sorry Lye. I know it hurts and you don't want to talk but you promised you would never leave me." she looked up and scooted over pulling him next to her into a hug. "I know bubba but the pain is terrible. I feel so empty."

"Its ok. I will stay with you." he held her hand and hummed a song she used to sing to him when he was little, gently rubbing her back as she fell into a restless sleep.
