Kayla's POV

"Are you serious?!" I exclaimed, outraged.

I was currently in the main hall with The Master, The Doctor, Jack and Martha's family. The Master was just grinning like normal. "But of course, you're all now slaves. Better than dying though, hmm?" He walked up close to me as I deadly stared straight into his eyes. "Is that right? I don't think it is." I narrowed my eyes as he poked me. "Well you don't have a choice in the matter, darling." He laughed as I felt my face go red. In anger.

I breathed out shakily before nodding slowly. "Fine. But I'll take the harder chores. I don't want these people doing something when they did nothing." I commanded as he rose an eyebrow, raising his chin before nodding to. "Deal."

"Kayla, I've died many times... I can take being a slave." Jack smiled slightly as I looked at him in pity. "No, I want to." I said before walking over to him. "What do we do then?" Tish boldly asked as The Master reached into a cupboard and pulled out a few buckets and mops before chucking them at us. It just had to hit my head. "Oh my god." I groaned, leaning on Jack.

"You okay?" He asked as I nodded. "I'll be fine, just will... Get a bump I guess." I laughed slightly before The Master came back. "Sink is there. Fill and clean. I want this place spotless, or no food. Eh?" He wickedly smiled as I frowned. That's not the man I was with yesterday. What has changed?

"But wait! I want to show you something first." The Master pressed a button on a remote and a screen appeared on the wall showing London. "Why is it so empty?" I questioned as he looked at me in fake pity. "You're so naive, Kayla." He smirked as I frowned. "I don't understand." I whispered as Martha's mother and father hugged in sadness. Tish close to tears.

Wait... I gasped loudly, covering my mouth. WAIT.

"Wait..." I choked out as I remembered something. My family... Shock flooded over me as I felt my eyes tear up. "I just... No." I cried loudly as I fell onto the floor. I squeezed my eyes shut as I imagined their faces. Tears streamed down my face as I sobbed. "Kayla..." Jack whispered from beside me as I covered my face with my arms, gripping my head. "My family Jack! My mother, my father, my little brother!" I spluttered out as I shook.

I felt someone take me in their arms as I just gave up and wrapped my arms around them. "Shh it's okay, it's me." I heard a familiar voice say as I shook my head. "It will never be okay! Never again!" I shouted as I stared at the blurred face of Jack.

"Stay here, one minute Kayla." He whispered as I nodded, before hearing a loud crack throughout the room. I slowly looked behind me, seeing The Master leaning against the wall, holding his bloody chin with his hand and Jack clenching and unclenching his fist. I looked over at The Doctor. "How can I help?" I sigh painfully as he got up slowly from his wheelchair and opened his arms.

Hell, I don't care if he's old. I just want to be hugged damnit.

I ran into his arms, burying my head into his shoulder as I felt him rub his hand against my back. "Don't worry about it, all will turn out fine. I promise you." He whispers as I just said nothing. I unwrapped my arms before turning around sharply.

"You are no man, you're defiantly no Time Lord. You're a real life MONSTER!" I yelled at The Master, glaring at him for a far. "Wait Kayla." He tried before flinching from his jaw. "Don't say my name! I don't want my name spoken from such a creature." I spat at him before roughly grabbing the bucket and mop, walking to the sink.

The Master's POV

I thought I'd get such happiness from people's suffering... So why do I feel worse?

And god those drums, it's worse than ever before. It's like they're telling me off... Ashamed? Is that the word for it?

I watched as everyone apart from The Doctor and I leave the room, off to clean. I placed my hand to my jaw, gold dust flowing from it. I felt a familiar tingle as it healed. "You disappointed in me to, Doctor?" I questioned him angerly as he glared at me.

I looked down before staring at him slightly. "I feel like doing something really crazy, but I'm not sure if I should do it..." I whispered as he sighed. "What is it?" He said as I bit my lip.

"Can you keep a promise Doctor? No lies?" I asked him as he scrunched his eyebrows, nodding all the same.

"So... Could we make a deal then?" I nervously swallowed as his eyes widened. "I'll turn you back... But for one reason and only one." I murmured to him. "I understand I need help Doctor." I gingerly tapped my head as he nodded. "I'll help you." He says, more livelier.

I groaned to myself, thinking if this is a good idea before pointing my device at him and slowly changing him to his former self. The Doctor, young and normal stared at me with his old eyes.

"You need a lot of work, Master." He frowned, walking over to me and put his fingertips onto my temple. "What are you doing?!" I exclaimed as he shushed me. "I want to find out what this drumming is for myself." He muttered before snapping his eyes open from his concentration. He quickly removed his hands as I sighed. "Doctor just save me the sob story, this is not one of those human programs. Holly pine or something like that."

The Doctor scratched the back of his head for a second. "Eh, I think we should see, tell me when it's not as loud or when it is loud. We can test this." He explained as I nodded.

We just stood there for a while, before, "You know... It's nice not being the only Time Lord." The Doctor smiled slightly as I laughed slightly. "Are you trying to tell me something Doctor?" I grinned at him as he rolled his eyes.

His smile suddenly fell before walking past me. "And where are you going?!" I yelled after him as he looked at me. "Kayla needs me. From what you did." He explained sharply as I twitched. "Now." I called softly after him as he suddenly stopped. "What?" He questioned, walking to me fast again. "It's louder." I frowned as he slipped his hand into my pocket, grabbing his sonic screwdriver before scanning me.

"Nothing different. Just a little temperature." The Doctor wrinkled his eyebrows in confusion before nodding. "Okay, I'll keep that listed." He says, looking at me once more before walking back out. "I'll be back later." He confirms as I defeatedly sigh.

This isn't going how I wanted it to be at all.
