"I'm gonna go and find the love of my life and make her mine forever" Thomas said with the biggest smile as he ran to the door, heading for the Y/L/N household. The Y/L/N's didn't live that far away from the Holland's, a walking distance you could say. But for Thomas, it was more so a sprint. Thomas' family did also follow the lover, but at a more relaxed pace.

Through that 5 minute run, millions of thoughts were jogging around Thomas' mind.

What if she forgot who he was? Would Y/N have moved on with another man? Wouldn't surprise Thomas, when your love is as hot as Y/N is, any man that passes is a threat. But all these thoughts seemed to have disappeared as Thomas stopped right in front of the red door of the Y/L/N's. He haulted at his movements, staring at the oh so familiar house. It had felt like years in the young boys mind, since he has last snuck into the home, to see his girl. Thomas had dreamed of coming back but when he finally got his long awaited wish....he felt, dare I say, repelled.

Before Thomas left to the war, he had a major argument with Y/N's father. Mr Y/L/N was pissed to say the least, about Thomas leaving. Tom had already gotten his approval to marry Y/N and planned to do so that weekend but things don't always go to plan.

"Ah Thomas! Good to see you son" Mr Y/L/N said, patting Tom on the back. Mr Y/L/N always called him his son so it wasn't an unusual thing. "What brings you here? Have you proposed to my daughter yet? Seems like what? Last week you asked for my blessing" He said smiling. Mr Y/L/N was always a big fan of Thomas. Thomas made Y/N very happy which made Mr Y/L/N happy. Although they had a fairly good relationship, Thomas always felt nervous around Y/N's father, mostly because he could snap Tom's neck in a matter of seconds.

"Um no I haven't asked yet.  I actually came to talk to you about the proposal" Thomas stated quickly. "What? Are you having second thoughts?" Mr Y/L/N replied. He was already getting angry which frightened Thomas. Thomas hadn't even dropped the ball yet and he was already regretting not just sending a letter, explaining what was happening.

"No no no God no. I would never have second thoughts about marrying Y/N. It's just-.....I'm leaving" Thomas spoke, avoiding eye contact. He looked to the ground only to see a pair of feet right in front of his. Stupidly enough, Thomas looked up only to see the anger in Mr Y/L/N eyes. "Excuse me?" "I-I got a letter from the army. Their recruiting me to fight in the war" Thomas said stuttering. "And you expect my daughter to wait around for you?!?!?" Mr Y/L/N yelled. He was overly pissed, but it's not like it Thomas' fault. If it was his choice, he wouldn't be going.

"Listen here Thomas. My daughter will not be waiting around forever for you. She wants to get married and start a family and if that means with someone who's not you...so let it be" He said harshly, leaning against Thomas' small structure of a body. This made Tom stumble back. "I'm sorry Mr Y/L/N. I want to marry Y/N but I don't have a choice in this. I want to make children with her, I want to wake up next to her and tell her how much she means to me. But I can't. I'll only be a few months, then when I come back everything will be as it used to- just please, don't hate me" Thomas ranted. This stunned Mr Y/L/N. Never in a million years would he see Thomas ranting to him about his daughter. He almost felt sorry for Thomas.

Almost. Key word. Almost.

At the end of the day, Mr Y/L/N has to choose what's right for his daughter. And at that very moment, he thought the best thing to do was to give some other man the chance to marry Y/N. He didn't want Y/N to wait her whole life for a man that most likely won't return. So he did what any overprotective father would do.

"Get out"

***

That was over a year ago. That very night, Thomas screamed and yelled at his best friend, Harrison , about what he was to do. The love of his life's father hates him now. What could he do? Thomas could have just married Y/N that day, but Mr Y/L/N still wouldn't be happy with that.

So there he stood. In the living room of the Y/L/N household, waiting for Mrs Y/L/N's husband to come in the room.

Mrs Y/L/N was absolutely esthetic to see Thomas home, but deep down, she knew Thomas wouldn't have such an easy time on making her dear husband that excited.

"It's good your home Thomas. Y/N misses you a lot" Mrs Y/L/N said while pouring some tea into a cup. "Thank you Mrs Y/L/N. I really missed Y/N too, more than anything in the world" Thomas spoke, giving the lady in front if him a smile, as she placed the cup, decorated with flowers, in front of him. Thomas took a small sip of his favourite drink, before placing it down on the counter. "So, where's Y/N?" Thomas said quickly. Not out of nervousness though. But out of excitement. Mrs Y/L/N seemed to catch onto Thomas' happiness as she laughed at the young boy. "She's outside picking apples from the apple trees. I would lead you to her, because I know you desperately want to see her" She said. "But I think it's best you clear the air with her father before hand" Mrs Y/L/N said while placing a plate full of short bread biscuits on the wooden table.

"Where is he? If I may ask" Thomas asked. "He's having a meeting at the moment, don't know who it is but he shouldn't be long. Then after you can go see Y-" Mrs Y/L/N was cut off, by the sounds of Mr Y/L/N's office door opening. We both faced the door, watching as Mr Y/L/N walked out. He had a big smile on his face but that soon disappeared as he made eye contact with Thomas.

"Thomas" Mr Y/L/N said. "Sir" Thomas said back. They both gave each other hard stares. The tension in the room was so noticeable that Mrs Y/L/N cut in, to hopefully calm everyone down. "How was your meeting dear? Any new deals for the business?" She said, smiling at her husband.

Yes the Y/L/N's owned a business. For generations, the Y/L/N owned a business that helped making and sending off materials needed for the army or anything really. Sounds boring, but it definitely helped with the bills. It was safe to say that the Y/L/N's...were bloody rich.

"Actually it wasn't for the business-" Mr Y/L/N said while smirking at Thomas. "It was for Y/N" he said with a smile that looked like it came from the devil. "For Y/N? What do you mean sweetheart?" Mrs Y/L/N asked. She was also very oblivious to what her husband had up his sleeve.

"I found a young man who's good enough to marry our daughter" "What?!!??" Thomas and Mrs Y/L/N yelled. "I thought Thomas was marrying Y/N!!!!" She yelled at her husband. Mr Y/L/N just laughed her off though. "God no- Thomas will never be good enough for her, so I found someone willing to take her off our hands" He said, signaling for someone to come out of his office.

There stood a man with beautiful blond hair and dashing blue eyes. He was tall, taller then Thomas and had huge muscles that hugged his shirt. The boy was also wearing an army uniform but in his hand was something that shocked Thomas. It was a ring. A ring that looked the perfect size to fit a small hand. Y/N's hand to be precise.

But that wasn't what shocked everyone the most. No. It was the fact that the man was no other then Thomas' best friend. Harrison Osterfield.
