Yesterday was an empty room that belonged to me

The room was my own playground, created by endless possibilities

A summers breeze carried me to my dreams and I was unstoppable

Bad thoughts only found in nightmares that vanished when I woke up

It was like a song, light, flowy, and sweet as honey

The endless clear blue sky was filled with white velvety clouds that caused my imagination to soar

Tomorrow is so far away

---------------------------------------------

Today the room is starting to fill up

It's like a poem, a hidden meaning tucked between every line

People begin to judge my playground

Grey clouds are closing in and in their prey

Buckets of water from the shadows above pour down my face and stain my cheeks

Time seems to still as the water stops, a burst of heat lies in its wake

They burn my playground to the dirt

Tomorrow is just within my sights

---------------------------------------------

Tomorrow the room will be full

It'll be far too crowded for me to see what comes next

I was naive to believe the water that streaked down my face was caused by the rain

It's like a melody, the lyrics saying what's to come not yet revealed

The world will turn as cold, cruel, and unforgiving as a winters night

The burning flames replaced with icy stares

But a light will flicker beyond the cold exterior begging to be released

In the vast world that will no longer be mine, I will only hope to find my playground again

Tomorrow will be here to stay
