Through the darkness quick and leering
Towards your path it is steering
With its grimace on its face
It shall have you, it will chase
Through the darkness to the clearing
Now it sees you, it is peering
One more moment it will wait
One more miniute till your fate
Now you see it, now it's there
Your eyes have locked upon its stare
It lifts you up, then hurls you down
Now it speaks, with a frown
"The heavens smile upon you this night,
For the one I seek is not so slight in might"
Then it's off with much hast
To resume its great chace
For the man up ahead
