"This day just keeps getting better and better!" Haseya growled in anger as she and Coleman galloped away from their attackers.
"D*mmit!" Coleman grunted in annoyance. This was most definitely not going to plan. Of course every odd had to be stacked against them.
"Sh*t they're shooting!" Haseya hissed as an arrow flew by her ear. "We can't run straight." Coleman read her mind. She would always tell him that.
She was pleased he actually listened for once. Coleman took the lead and Haseya held back.
Haseya wasn't familiar with these people and she knew better than to try to chit chat. They didn't seem to want to talk.
She's never encountered people who wanted to kill without restraint. But she knew it was because of her. They would be too hesitant to kill Coleman. White people were very evil and vengeful when it came to natives.
"Shoot if you have to darling." Coleman called back to her. Haseya knew she would have to start shooting soon but she tried to hold off as long as she could. She held loyalty to all tribes even though hers did not share that sentiment. But her life and her son's life were at stake.
Killing animals was one thing. But killing a human being. Especially humans like her...it took a toll on her sometimes. "Where are we going Cole?" She asked hastily.
An arrow flew right past her skimming her arm making her hiss. "This way." Coleman made a sharp turn and Sierra and Haseya followed suit.
Another arrow flew by and Haseya knew it was time to take action back. She couldn't let these men peg her as weak. And she couldn't let herself or Coleman die on her watch. No one was going to stop them from protecting Malcom.
She turned around and drew back her bow sticking one right in the heart. She watched him clutch his chest before falling off his horse.
His people were obviously upset because they began to get closer and more enraged. "Sh*t Morgan what did you do?" Coleman called back.
"Nailed one. I had to. He was the best shooter." Haseya responded. Coleman nodded. He had to admit he was happy to have Haseya on his team.
Haseya's sharp shot was like no other. Coleman remembered when she tried to teach him but that was her talent not his. She could more damage with a bow and arrow she made herself than most people could do with a gun.
"I'm gonna need some help Cole." She flew another arrow back.
Coleman took the initiative from Haseya and cocked back his pistol before nailing another person. He really didn't feel like getting shot with an arrow for the third time in his life so he was just gonna have to do what he could to prevent it.
The area started to become more familiar to Haseya when she spotted a very distinct mountain range.
"The gate in the mountains!"Haseya pointed at the mountain range ahead.
"The gate?" Coleman panted the horses were pushing their speed as fast as possible. It was hard to hear each other.
