Cracked Perfection

It is early in the morning, the sunlight peeking in through the windows. A small rainbow can be seen as the light caught something gleaming on the shelf. It is a pure white diamond, perfectly cut and polished. It is gorgeous, even with that horrific crack on it.

It was found yesterday, sitting in a box with some other items that were abandoned for some reason. It now rests on this shelf, all alone. Then, in a small flash of light, a pair of white eyes made themselves known, looking around the room.
