"You don't have to, you know that", Pepper exclaimed from the bedroom across. While you just stepped out the bedroom, wearing one of your favorite dresses.

"I don't know why you all are making just a fuss about", you rolled your eyes and checked yourself one last time in the mirror. Since the announcement of your father's party this evening, it seemed like he tried everything to keep you away. Without any explanation.

"I mean, what is the worst thing that could happen? Thor accidentally getting me drunk?" Pepper couldn't hide the smile, but you saw that there was something she didn't want to tell.

Tony Stark was completely taken by surprise when the message arrived him; he had a daughter.

Your mother was one of his girlfriends, just before he met Pepper and when she got pregnant, she decided to raise you all on her own. When you were fourteen, she died in a car accident and after years of remaining silent about your mysterious father, you had found out who he was.

It wasn't a lie that it took a while. Tony and Pepper hadn't been dating for long, the talk about the future was yet to hold, and then they suddenly found out that he had a daughter. But somehow, they stayed together. Especially in the very beginning, after having moved into a ginormous villa with a man you basically didn't know, Pepper was a lot quicker to welcome you. You had inherited a lot of his features, first of all, his intelligence.

You were smart, had skipped two grades, a straight A student without even studying. And the engineering, god knows how many cars, microwaves and Tv's you had taking apart. Pepper just couldn't help herself when she noticed how alike you two sometimes were.

It was hard for Tony to adjust, he didn't know how to handle a child and you didn't make it easy for him. Your mother had told you how he dumped her, you still held a reasonable grudge. But eventually you became a family.

"You look absolutely beautiful." Pepper finally stated while rising from your bed, where she had waited for you. She gave you a proud smile; even though she wasn't your biological mother, she still had taken on the role of one. "Thank you."

"Ah Lady Stark!" Thor greeted you with a warm hug, your feet lifting off the ground in the meantime. Steve and Sam stood next to him. They chuckled while you coughed exaggerated. "Thor you need to set me down, I can't breathe!" You laughed as the tall blonde finally set you back on the ground. "You've grown with each time I see you, as well you have become more stunning!" He exclaimed and you rolled your eyes at him, while he took a long slug from his large beer. "You always say that."

"But he's right, you did grow up a lot." Steve nodded now as well, eyeing you lovingly. "Yeah, you're a real lady now." Sam commented and winked at you. You almost blushed and when you were about to punch his shoulder jokingly, you watched his smile drop. A sudden flash of surprise hit his face, and while Sam hasty put an arm around your shoulder, he exchanged knowing looks with Steve.

"What-", you couldn't get any further. "Well as a lady I should buy you a drink." Sam babbled and pushed you towards the bar, where Clint, Natasha and Bruce chatted. Steve and Thor immediately switched positions and when lurking back at them, their broad shoulders hid the view behind them. You furrowed your brows at their weird behavior, but decided to not question it further.
